2006 MBP 17 core 2 duo here. Replaced drive with solid state last year which improved performance however can no longer upgrade OS X. Outdated iTunes version no longer sees my phone. It’s a must now to get a new one. Lasted 10 years on December 11 this year.

Dammit, mines a 2014. Im gonna have to wait at least 5 more years to get a new one? For best experience, you should get a new one every year, otherwise suffer with Apple's planned obsolescence.
