Make him appraise it, which will most likely be more than it is worth and require that he pay that amount.
Sell the crappy paintings and donate the money to some charity that the left hates such as the NRA or prolife organizations.
Have a public event and allow children to paint over his crappy art.

I would just say that I appreciate his talent regardless of his political opinions or his personal life and hopefully someday he will be able to do the same. Then have every picture possible taken by his painting.
