Taking off his helmet to celebrate in the end zone is an automatic penalty. It’s supposed to be a team sport.

Agreed! Follow the well established, well documented and sensible rules!

“Taking off his helmet to celebrate in the end zone is an automatic penalty. “

Watched it live. I thought he was out of the end zone when he took it off. At what point on the side line/out of bounds can you take your helmet off and run around. The look-at-me homie will probably catch some comments from the linemen that busted their butt all night for him to blow it so his girl friends could see his face on da flat screen.

So if he hadn’t taken off his helmet it would not have been a penalty?

A Tennessee Vol took his helmet off a few years ago at the end of the game (in frustration, in a losing cause) a few years ago...not penalized as I recall but was punished by the coach.

Before all these stupid ‘rules’ (I know some are good etc but I played before the face mask and when it came in it was a bar across the nose)

ANYWAY

The line was that the ‘rookie & green players’ would pull off their helmet when the fight started..

The wisened, experienced types took the helmet UP another notch...
