Minnesota players have ended their boycott of the Holiday Bowl. (Photo by Hannah Foslien/Getty Images) Minnesota football players ended their boycott Saturday morning and will begin preparation for the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27.

The Gophers had been protesting the suspension of 10 players linked to a sexual assault allegation. The team was demanding the suspended players be reinstated immediately.

Senior wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky read a team statement Saturday morning:

“As a team, we understand that what has occurred these past few days, and playing football for the University of Minnesota, is larger than just us. … “We now ask that you, the members of the media, our fans, and the general public hold all of us accountable for ensuring that our teammates are treated fairly, along with any and all victims of sexual assault. We also ask that the public dialogue related to the apparent lack of due process in a university system is openly discussed and evaluated.

No criminal charges were filed, but a school investigation determined the players had violated university policy. ...

the war on men has to stop. It makes zero sense that universities should be able to effectively ruin a person's life on the allegations of sexual assault/rape when a court of law clears them. Liberals whine "police can't handle sex assault cases" but left-wing bureaucrats can?

What happened to criminal justice reform? Due process? Ohhh, when white men are among those in trouble, it not only doesn't matter to liberals, but its GOOD in their eyes. Given how many people see sexual assault as worse than plain physical non-sexual violence and treat perpetrators as such, both in and out of jail, due process and reasonable doubt should matter, especially at state universities, funded by tax payers.

Please, Donald J. Trump, fix this!

I read the 80 odd pages police and other reports.

It sounds like the girl was, at least, taken advantage of and at worst out and out gang raped by a dozen or so Black football players. In any event, these were not men.

The reports can be found here

Indeed, it does. I was hoping the boycott would continue.

There is no constitutional right to get a scholarship to play college football.

There is no Due Process.

Scholarships can be revoked and players can be suspended or kicked off the team.

With or without reasonable doubt.

“Indeed, it does. I was hoping the boycott would continue.”

Had the boycott continued, they would have been dismissed from the team, lossed their scholarships and expelled from school.

This appears to be a gang rape by 10-20 football players of an intoxicated girl and you are defending them?

Too bad. It’s going to take something like this to force universities to recognize some sort of due process rights for male students.

Teams can discipline players as they see fit. With a recruit involved, I wonder if she was “provided” by someone. In any event, based on.the reports, she consented to the first few encounters. Dumb behavior all around.

RAPE IS A CRIME. HAS ANYONE BEEN CHARGED? - No. Various people representing the players — including attorneys and players’ families, have disputed various aspects of the woman’s account. Some have said it was consensual. Hennepin County prosecutors declined to prosecute, saying in a statement: “There is insufficient admissible evidence for prosecutors to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that either force was used, or that the victim was physically helpless as defined by law in a sexual encounter.”

A number of FR members were defending the actions of the PLAYERS.

I suggested the school tell the athletes to play or lose their free rides to the university.

Those defending the actions of these men taking advantage of a drunk girl should be ashamed. Your daughter or sister might be next.

The local police in these university towns are owned by the big $$$ football programs.

The girl in Florida State was told to shut up as well once they found out who the (alleged) rapist was.

Two systems of justice. Athletes walk.

There was 5 or 6 FR members defending the players in a thread I started this week.

“She was drunk. Had it coming to her.”

There was VIDEO of the drunk girl in this case taken by the perps.

The local yokel cops because it involved football players didn’t pursue it.

This STINKS.

Read the report...
maybe taken advantage of by some, but it sure is gray here...
she gave a statement, then, during questioning, she admitted she may have had consensual sex.

""Redacted" states that the sexual contact between her and "Carlton" and "Redacted" may have been consensual, but believes that the sexual contact with "Tamarion", "Ray" was not consensual"

On top of all that, the matter was actually settled.
In addition, the players agreed not to file civil lawsuits against the woman

I wonder what was said in that final hearing.

What was the agenda here by the cops?

Remember, Penn State just this year had a game in honor of the pedo-enabling former coach there.

Rape is okay as long as the football program does it.

I’d have given Penn State the death penalty for their football program.

I’d suspend any player not kneeling for the national anthem.

I’d yank the scholarship of any of these trained monkeys unwilling to do the job they’re paid to do.

The girl may have bene a mud shark, but she didn’t deserve to get raped.
