PREDICTION:

Walking Dead will be canceled by the end of next year.

It is a product of the negative Obama years — declining America and decline of American people.

Trump is positive. Middle America now sees hope and a path to victory. They won’t want to watch something this negative.

My .02.

Also think the show has played out of ideas. Beta Rick (white male representative) sucks and the show is too fractured.

I’m a fan, but don’t see it continuing for more than another year.

Remove me from the PING list.

Time to go MAGA!!!

Was he trying to get Rick killed and become the “leader”?

Yes.....With that bottle of booze, he was just a brown-nosing little weasel......now he's a gutless little weasel.

Walking Dead will be canceled by the end of next year.

I don't think so, they're still the highest rated show on cable and they're already set to air season 8 next fall........

The writing is good, the acting is brilliant and there is plenty of material to work with from the comic series.......

Zombies have been a recurring theme in entertainment and you might be right that the demand for a zombie show will decline as things get better in the USA.

When zombies first showed up in the 1950’s and 1960’s they were a stand-in for the implacable foe of global totalitarian communism. There was no negotiating with them and you didn’t have to feel bad about killing them because they weren’t human anyway.

When they came back again in the 1980’s it was because we were also on the brink again with the communists and the zombies were once again the bad guy you could kill and not have to feel bad about it.

Now the zombies are a proxy for the Muslims and in many real ways. Just like any seemingly normal Muslim can suddenly transform into a mindless killer so can anyone in the world of TWD also become a mindless killer. You can kill THOUSANDS of zombies without feeling bad about it. And at the same time you’re waging war on the zombies there’s the more dangerous living people who should be on your side who are also waging war on you. Who can you trust?

With TWD I doubt it will get cancelled within a year but I do expect that the fall season of 2017 will have to reflect a greater mood of optimism as people become more optimistic about life in the USA. We’ll need to see the people on TWD making America great again because in reality America will be getting great again.

TWD *WILL* be cancelled if it remains a cynical, pessimistic, and despairing program when post-Obama America is looking for more hopeful programs.

Sort of like how the pessimism of Norman Lear was so popular in the despairing era of the 1970’s, especially during the Carter years.

But when Reagan came in it was more positive programs like Cheers, Cosby, Baywatch, and etc. that were the mainstays of culture.

With the despair of the Obama years about to come to a close the popular culture will have to shift to one of hopefulness and TWD will have to shift gears to remain in touch with the culture.

My husband, right after we first started watching the 1st season, commented that he thought it was about what the world is like when civil society breaks down. I think he is right about that; and, people like The Governor and Neegan would start coming out of the woodwork because there is no law.

I’m not sure what to make of that note they found on the boat. “... you’re still a loser”
I was thinking that the food was poisoned. Was there food found on the boat? If there was, now Negan has it. That might cut down his numbers a bit.

And thanks someone for the comment about the note written in Latin. How did they know that Spencer could read Latin? It has to be the person watching Alexandria at the end. Apparently that person has been watching very closely for some time now.

Are you sure Dwight was in the trailer for the next episode? I watched several times and wasn’t sure. But that would explain Daryl’s escape. I predicted that Dwight would arrange his escape. Dwight would have extremely valuable intel on the Sanctuary.

So apparently there will be a federation of communities that will join up to fight the Sanctuary. King Ezekial will be a hard sell but not near as hard as getting Oceanside involved. But first Tara will have to reveal the existence of Oceanside. Oceanside has a bunch of hardened warriors and plenty of guns/ammo.

And I was predicting that Eugene/Rosita would have secretly created a load of ammo that would save the day, but Eugene is off to the Sanctuary to make ammo for Negan.

And the first fight probably will be outside Alexandria, because Negan would burn the place when he finds out Daryl has escaped. And there will be holy hell to pay right there in the Sanctuary.

I don’t think the spy at the end of the episode is Richard because of the fancy boots. And on the Talking Dead they said that character will have a big part in the second half of the season, implying its a new character.

I don’t have any idea who it would be. As someone else said it might be someone from Oceanside that followed Tara. It could be someone that long ago escaped from the Sanctuary. It may be one of the people that were banned from Alexandria long before Rick and company showed up (the mayor mentioned them). I don’t think it was the original occupant of the boat because there was a body on the boat. But it might be Heath (I not sure of the name right now but the dude that was on the extended run with Tara). Or someone completely new.

To clarify, it was not in a trailer for the next episode. Before this season started, there were several trailers of the upcoming season, and it appeared that it had a few trailers from various episodes.

In the scene with Dwight at the Kingdom, there was discussion over the fact that he worked for Negan, and could just be there to find out info and betray them. The King said he had avoided fighting while alone, but with enough people, so that chances of success were likely he was interested in fighting.

At least Spencer had a plan to fight back eventually. Rick was content to keep this arrangement permanent. That's probably the reason Neegan took him out.

So did anyone else notice this lovely character at the end of the trailer for the upcoming season?

Creepy!

‘Walking Dead’ ratings are lower than ever: Is Negan to blame?
Although the show’s seventh season came in like lion with the premiere garnering more than 17 million viewers, it’s going out like a lamb. Sunday’s mid-season finale reeled in just 10.6 million viewers.
Viewership for the show has waned throughout the season. The question is why? And the answer could be Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Morgan plays the villain Negan, a character viewers love to hate — or at least they are supposed to love to hate him. In the first episode, his violent explosion with a barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat left two fan-favorite characters bloodied to a pulp. It was a shocking move on the show’s part that earned lots of eyeballs, but the attention didn’t last.
