Well, there’s like a foot of snow now on Mauna Kea, and you can probably see Russia from the peak ;-) I have a friend who lives on remote and largely uninhabited Molokai which is very different than tourist Hawaii. Paradise without people.

By my calculation with 8.0 epicenter at a 3330 mile radius from the Soloman Islands, the wave will be 8.5386 inches high ( + or - 1 inch) at Maui north shore. Fear not!!
Nah. You just have to not live at ocean level. There are plenty of places higher up.
