so these ‘dreamers’ and their families haven’t already leeched enough stuff from actual united states citizens and their tax dollars?!?!~
gd, this is getting ridiculous - almost half my state university is receiving a free or substantially reduced ‘higher’ u.s. education, while the rest have to pay up in full!!!~
tell you what, when these ‘dreamers’ get to choose between acceptance of a substantial and nondischargeable six figure bill to stay and assimilate, or take what they and their family have stolen thus far and deport, you let us actual tax paying citizens know...
I dont have a problem with people who were brought here as children and grew up here staying. If someone was brought here when they were a small child, they really dont have a country to go back to.
So you are saying that the parents would go back to their country of origin, yet the children are allowed to stay? That makes no sense...Their parents knowingly brought them here illegally, so what is wrong with the parents returning to their home country and bringing their children with them?
This happens on a voluntary basis where people return to their homeland, so why would people who brought children here illegally be entitled to refuse returning to their country?
Elizabeth Vilchis told Santorum that she came to the country at age 7. She excelled in school and eventually decided to pursue a STEM career path Science, Technology, Engineering, Math because she had heard about the declining number of students pursuring STEM degrees and deciding she wanted to be part of the solution.
Since then, Vilchis has become a mechanical engineer, and also a mentor for young students, spending more than a decade working with them to help prepare and inspire them to pursue engineering and other STEM careers.

She should be forced to repay the cost of her public education here in the U.S. and then deported. She should also be forced to pay a fine and any other cost she has incurred at U.S. taxpayer’s expense, including the cost to ship her back to her third world sh%thole.
Ed Henry is a DEMOCRAT!!
Cruz didn’t win and wouldn’t have so much winning so early if he had won (he wouldn’t have). Let’s see where the phasing takes us - start with the border and the hard core criminals and work your way through the layers...Trump is the best that could have happened for us at this point in time and so many opt to do the asinine “what ifs”, thereby denying themselves the pleasure of knowing what we dodged and what is already starting to happen.
Exactly.

Their parents are responsible for bringing them here in violation of the law.
If you amnesty them, you’ll have to amnesty the parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc, etc, etc.
There is no line in this country for illegal aliens. They must return home to get in line like everybody else.
If we create a new line for people to get in inside the country, we will end up with amnesty for all.
I was referring to the line formed by those entering the country legally and I understand that the line is two years long. Current illegal entrants are subject to being put at the end of this line.
The current law would require returning to the country of origin and beginning with an application. Trump and Congress may come up with a more streamlined application process for people wishing to stay when they have a clean record as far as criminality is concerned — and would be verified by current and past behavior in the States. I would apply this to all members of a family. But this would be new legislation and has not yet been submitted. The border has to be closed first.
I am against any accommodation for illegal aliens.
Changing the laws to benefit those breaking them is always bad policy.
If they want to be Americans, the line forms in their home country. anything else is rewarding them for breaking in.
The last amnesty in 1986 was supposed to be less than a million, turned out to be 3 million.
It also resulted in 10 times the number of illegal aliens.
Yes, I know.
the only thing I said was that Congress can do something like this if they want.
It may end up being a compromise because your position may end up being untenable for the Congress. No one should have a problem with getting rid of a criminal. But the maid or car washer Etc is not in the same class as a gang member or thief.
The people who argue that we cannot pay for the hearings and legal “due process” that will be required are making a point. My suggestion is that many of the non-criminal illegals may welcome the chance to become residents without voting rights and sit at the end of the line of residents who came in legally. After several million criminals are sent back the process of dealing with those who are clearly here as workers can become the focus.
My idea (post wall and criminal deportation) is to allow them to apply for resident status and waive their hearings by filling out an application that showed what they have been doing here for the last several years. If they have kept their noses clean, I would like to see some change in status from illegal to legal. The circumstances would need to be set down in a new law. The law may not gain acceptance, as you say, but we can’t know at this time.
As this illegal alien illustrates

we should not wait until they have been convicted of killing Americans before deporting them.
ALL illegal aliens have been committing myriad crimes to further their illegal presence in the USA.
Driving without licenses and insurance, riving drunk, using fraudulent documents, etc.
Just because they haven’t been caught is no reason to give them a pass.
Of course illegal aliens would jump at the chance to lie about what they’ve been doing to get rewarded for breaking in and many in Congress have been itching for any excuse to amnesty those who they have refused to keep out.
We elected Trump to put an end to the refusal to enforce the laws and the endless demands for amnesty from our faithless elected.
Here we agree, No lies. Everything would be certified.
Here is an example of someone who would pass as certified “good”
All kids have reasonable progress in school, no altercations or problems with teachers, counselors, administration, and in writing.
All family members free of criminal action on the part of the local police, again in writing.
Voting records show no member of the family has ever registered to vote and voted in any election. This from the registrar’s office in writing. (Mandatory rule, no exceptions), voting is a serious felony that would be a disqualification and grounds for deportation.
Tax records show taxes paid and and good work history, tax ID could be fake, but all other info should pass an audit
Welfare records show no food stamps, housing subsidy, legal aid or SSI taken for at least five years. In writing from the government office set up to do this.
Driving record of all adults (16 and up) are clear of points for last five years and all minor citations cleared with the court. Again in writing from the court.
Housing records show either home ownership with good payment history or five years of rent paid on time. Letter of recommendation from landlord or financial institution.
Credit check from the credit bureau (at least one) showing no negative remarks for at least five years.
Work recommendation from supervisor at work going back five years or entrepreneur evidence for the same length of time.
People who own or run their own business have to generate a work history and get recommendations from at least three jobs.
In addition they would have to sign a statement that this application is their whole due process and the decision of the review board is final. If the application is denied, they get on the bus and head for home. In fact, I would have no problem with the application being presented at a border location with the understanding that if the application is denied, they do not come back into the country except under ICE supervision to close their business Etc and arrange for their possessions to be moved.
I believe this type of person is someone we could grant residency to. I AGREE THAT THEY BROKE THE LAW TO COME HERE. So Congress would have to pass a law to allow this but these restrictions (IMO) would mitigate the act of crossing the border.
The biggest problem is that they are “undocumented” and verification would be difficult at best.
Many of the “undocumented” in fact have more documents than you or I do and in multiple names. All of them fraudulent.
How will we know which name or names they have used?
See my other post on this issue, criminal illegals go to jail or go back. Jail here if they are repeat offenders. Then after serving time they go back. I am not trying to provide sanctuary or amnesty.
The issue is that some people (probably a majority) are working out here except for the initial border crossing. The ones you cite who are continually breaking the law are not eligible for residency treatment. And they know it. This is the first group to be found and sent home while the Wall is being constructed and the border patrol expanded.
BTW, it will take a leader of Trump’s stature to follow through on these concepts, and here I support you as far as holding the Congress’s collective feet to the fire.
Good discussion with you.
KC
They are ALL continually breaking laws, from driving without licenses and insurance to document fraud.
