With Martha McCollum substituting for Meghan Kelly in the Kelly File, we have FoxNews' Ed Henry showing powerful video footage of Trump in Arizona unqualifiedly and adamantly asserting he'll cancel all of Obama's Executive Orders and deport all Dreamers and Illegals. The crowd roars in approval shouting: TRUMP. TRUMP, TRUM. What follows is a spirited panel discussion about Trump backtracking on this core promise after meeting with Mayor Emmanuel.
Is this a backtracking? If so should Trump hear from his 62 million voters loud and clear?

He is trying to drive a wedge between Trump and his supporters. Don’t fall for it. Even if Trump does back down a bit, it won’t be for free. He will get a lot in return.
Maybe Trump met with Rahm, for the same reason that he met with Algore.

I don’t have a problem with people who were brought here as children and grew up here staying. If someone was brought here when they were a small child, they really don’t have a country to go back to.
Anyway, Trump has been saying his focus will be right now on building the wall and deporting all of the criminals.

Trump has always had two things going for him, (or maybe more)
First, he always said the good illegals would be reviewed and probably we would find a way for them to stay albeit at the end of the line. At the time I wanted him to explain in more detail what this meant, but we never got a complete explanation. It did morph into something we would look at after the border was secure and the criminal element had been dealt with. That was enough for me. This puts it a couple of years from now.
Second, Trump has always been aware of the effect of having to drag Congress along with him. He refers to this process as negotiation. This too makes sense. When the time comes, Congress and Trump will have to determine exactly what being good enough to stay (permanent residence) means. We know it does not confer voting rights or welfare rights, but there is something there for a little give and take. There is no one better at this than Trump.
So Trump has announced that Dreamers can stay?

I think this is likely much ado about nothing. Perhaps these leftist reprobates are confusing Trump courteously listening to them with agreement? Al Gore thought that they had a great conversation a couple of days ago and today Trump turned around and appointed a non climate change, anti-Gore guy to the EPA. Just because Trump is polite to these morons does not mean he is folding.
Accept it. There is going to be some backtracking and/or revising of expectations here and there. The demands of the presidency and the American Economy must be dealt with as is, not always the optimum time for drastic changes. I expect we will get some of what we wanted Donald to do. I don’t expect everything to play out as he promised he would push for.
I think we are much better off with this President Elect vs Madame Hildabeast. Oh yes. We are at least headed in the right direction.

Yes, he did and he will. Taxpayers should get a huge tax break, no longer being required to fund those religious charities in the name of illegals.
You should know better. It’s just like the Trump has caves on the climate boondoggle because he talked to Gore or said he had an open mind. He said, it’s a tough situation, we’ll see what we can do with them (something to that effect). Trump being Trump. He talks to Liberals and people think he caves..then he appoints another hard liner
COME ON ... Trump appoints 3 GENERALS so far ... does anybody think these military standouts have been chosen to cater to illegal immigrants? This Dreamer talk is all misdirection to keep the media from focusing on his All Star Law & Order team and holding up their appointments.

Have to be a bit tolerant as Trump in the post election period gets his enemies a bit closer and he broadens his base. The real critique comes after the first hundred days.
