Kirk Douglas turns 100 on Friday, and he has found the perfect gift to celebrate. Running Press later today officially will announcing the May 2 publication of a new book, Douglas’ 12th, written with his wife of 62 years, Anne Buydens Douglas, called Kirk and Anne: Letters of Love, Laughter, and a Lifetime in Hollywood.

There is a good chance that Kirk, at 100 years of age, is going to outlive his son Michael (72 y/o). Michael may have had a relapse of his throat cancer.
Born Issur Danielovitch, his parents were Jews who fled Russia.
Hope he lives many more years. Bob Hope and many others broke 100.

Yes. He has written several books, but I love his autobiography, Ragman’s Son. Amazing book. He has had quite a life. He grew up in poverty, and is truly a self-made man.
He has never forgotten that he is Issur Danielovitch.
Jews convert to Christianity all the time. Even Jesus was Jewish.
My favorite story from Ragmans Son was about how one year he was so down and out he was denied Thanksgiving dinner at the Salvation Army. By the next Thanksgiving he’d landed a role on Broadway and had dinner at the home of a wealthy family.
