Close. CR 2032 battery is typical. Other than that, good advice.
The fact you are hearing beeps means the CPU has started up, but something is seriously wrong with the I/O system, such that it can't communicate any other way. E.g., no display.
See for example: http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml
It may just be a matter of opening it up and re-seating all the boards.
The number of beeps used to tell the problem..
Wait, ignore my previous. You’ve recovered the data. You’re done, that machine isn’t worth spit. Quit wasting your time.
What I would love, are some Lavender cookies. Simply Divine! Thanks for the chuckle darling. {{{Squeezins}}}

Yup, your PC runs outta room otherwise!
I once accidentally bought a 2.5” drive for my desktop mini-tower thinking it was a 3.5”. I decided to use it as an external USB storage drive instead, the case w/USB connector was about 9 bucks. Makes a great portable external drive.
Tho you can also pop a 2.5” drive in the Startech HD bay.
That is known as a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

If a person has the free time and likes to monkey around with PCs, it’s not a waste of time. But putting a lot of time and money into an old PC to make it your main/goto PC is a bit of a waste.

I gave the MSoft link for the error message. Looks as if there’s a MS fixit prog for the problem at the link.
A problem with software that I use to edit PDF files. I think it uses Java.
I may need to uninstall Java altogether and then reinstall my PDF software.

Sounds like a plan to me.
You should make sure the Java uninstall is complete, e.g.

I use Foxit Reader for PDF files, stopped using Adobe Acrobat some years ago.
Here's your image from #47, expanded:
In September 1956, IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first ‘SUPER’ computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5 MB of data. |
Stuck key on the keyboard.,
Pretty sure gave the exact same symptons.
Long time ago.

To put that in perspective, it could hold one top sound quality MP3 file.
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
Very cool.
Why do you suppose in image #50, they didn’t have a fork-lift?
