Please sign a whitehouse.gov petition asking that the next major U.S. Navy Ship be named "USS The Deplorables".

Let us have pushing to recognize those citizens who rose up to defend America and The Constitution from the globalists (and to tweak Obama's nose).

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: deplorables; hillary; navy; obama
There is nothing wrong with having fun and, who knows, maybe it could happen.

Nothing wrong with that. Look at the names the English have given their navy ships.

I signed it. Great idea. But it might be better if it is submitted after Jan 20, 2017.

So maybe start a new one then for better results.

My favourite has always been HMS Gay Bruiser (I kid you not)

I understand and applaud your sentiments (a lot of Navy in our fam).

That said, this is not a good idea.

Don’t think you need the “The” and the plural. “USS Deplorable” sounds really cool.

How about HMS Cockchafer?

She was an Insect-class gunboat displacing 625 tons with a length of 237.5 feet. She was launched in December 1915 and broken up in 1949 in Singapore.

BTW, here is a picture of what HMS Cockchafer is named after:

Easy to believe from a military that once flew a Fairey Battle.

The “the” in front of a group identifier has precedent, in USS The Sullivans, DD-537, named after the five Sullivan brothers who were all killed on the USS Juneau in the Naval Battle for Guadalcanal.

Maybe it isn't but it if Trump tears it up in his first term an America actually begins to look out for its citizens then the insult to the people that made it happen should be acknowledged.

I would also like USS Infidel or USS Gaijin because nothing is more powerful that wearing the insults of you enemies as a badge of honor. To help make my case there were three US Navy ships named after the British derogatory term for American colonials:

USS Yankee (1861), a steam-powered sidewheel tugboat in commission from 1861 to 1865
USS Yankee (1892), an auxiliary cruiser and transport used in the Spanish–American War and in commission from 1898 to 1899, from 1903 to 1906, and in 1908
USS Yank (SP-908) (1917), an armed motorboat that served in the United States Navy as a patrol vessel from 1917 to 1919.

Loyalist newspaper cartoon from Boston ridicules "Yankie Doodles" militia who have encircled the British forces inside the city

You know what I would sign a petition to reverse this BS about the elimination of ratings as we have known them in the history of our Navy.

Shameful, stupid, and totally 100% liberal. Damn, it irritates me.

I don’t think it is a good idea because it is disrespectful. I take these symbolic things seriously, because I think it is important to have symbols, they tie us together. Tradition.

Naming them after politicians-ugh. They began making so many exceptions to the naming conventions that it was unusual to even wonder if we would get another ship named “Enterprise”.

Think of it: a ship whose name means:

“Enterprise”: A project or undertaking that is especially difficult, complicated, or risky, or also a readiness to engage in daring or difficult action.

What a great name for a US Naval ship. Instead we get jokes about naming a fleet oiler the USS Harvey Milk. One of the things that angers me about liberals and the current administration is their deliberate attempt to turn the military into a damned social petri dish, with the accompanying erosive effect on morale and readiness.

I believe this corrosive attack has had a disproportionate negative effect on the readiness and effectiveness of the US Navy, though I believe all branches have suffered it.

“USS Deplorable” sounds really cool.

Exactly my thought. It's a great name for a Navy vessel of the Trump era.
