Fact: In the 1950s, President Eisenhower, a Republican, integrated the US military and promoted civil rights for minorities.

It's always been my understanding that military integration occurred in the late 40's and was mandated by President Harry Truman, via executive order.

I think you’re right. The point stands, tho, that Eisenhower enforced civil rights - in Little Rock, Arkansas and in Washington, D.C. The latter he did quietly.
