Will Allen pleaded guilty last week in a $35 million Ponzi scheme, in which the former NFL player handed out fraudulent loans to professional athletes.
For the other football-playing Will Allen, this was a recurring nightmare.
Willie James Allen is a journeyman defensive back, currently a free agent, who played in 2014 and 2015 with Pittsburgh. Will D. Allen, a former cornerback who spent 2001 through 2005 with the Giants, is awaiting sentencing for a money-laundering scam. Confusion over which was the guilty party extended to media outlets all over including ESPN, at which Willie James Allen lashed out after it incriminated him by placing his face atop the court story and at his own mother, who called him to ask how he could commit such a crime.

Kind of funny. My mother would have driven over and kicked my ass in my 50s.
I think it’s time to consider changing your legal name to Bill, or use the middle name as the first.
There are just too many similarities for the average person to not make a mistake.
