Is Biden going to the funeral? Or JFK? Maybe Obama will do the honor.

It’s going to be interesting to see who shows up to wail, pull hair and rend garments.

The announcement was long expected, given the former presidents age and health problems, but when it came it was still a shock: I dunno that I would call it a "shock." It's more like a happy surprise.

My perspective on these sorts of things is probably different than many (most?). As a Christian, I know that the die is cast when we die. Up until that moment, we can still repent and be forgiven. Being spiritually made pure in the blood of Christ does not mean we won't be freed from the repercussions of our sins in this life, but at least we'll have peace in the next.
That said, the death of any unbeliever is an unbelievable tragedy in a spiritual sense and never cause for joy. The anguish and torment for others created by Fidel Castro in this life would be a terrible thing to carry over on one's soul into the afterlife.
