After the 'sturm und drang' (storm and stress = turmoil) of this election season, I agree with the WSJ that this is a good time to look at this more calming topic, a glimpse of the '1st stores' of these definitive fast-food chains. Look at the prices and realize the changes. Look at the cars and see those changes as well!

I do love the bit of real Americana one gets from the last lines about the original McDonal's site in San Bernardino CA, where a non-McDonald's entrepreneur made his own McDonalds museum. A gentleman with an apparent Japanese name, Albert Okura, who made his own fortune in Southern California with a Mexican Chicken chain, Juan Pollo, honoring the McDonald-Kroc legacy!

I have been to Sanders Court in Kentucky. It is pretty enlightening.
“Colonel” Sanders was a hard working guy who promoted himself and his products in a lot of different ways. He was a truly remarkable man!

Nice article. I would have liked to have seen Burger King, Wendy’s and White Castle as well.
