The Rats’ problem, though, is they’ve ethnically cleansed their base. The troops no longer think too much of their rich, white, racist, geriatric so-called leadership. They’ve created a monster that will consume them.
That’s true, and even worse, their racial politics have created an environment where two groups (legacy blacks and the numerically superior Hispanics) are demanding increasing shares of a very finite pie. After the 2000 census, I thought black votes would take a back seat to Hispanics, but Hispanics themselves are not so easily bought; they’ve shown consistently that they aren’t owned by either party (voting by class instead of race).
