yes! Give the credentials instead to Internet sites that have proven they’re trustworthy and deserve a chance.

No press credentials, period. No one, zip, nada. Just release information through the spokeperson and leave it at that. It’s time to do things in a new way.

I think there’s a potential angle there. The storytelling has to be carefully crafted.

Trump can legitimately posit that these media outlets were universally wrong forecasting a HRC win. They misreported hundreds of events, including the entire bogus story that “Trump supporters” were behind the many incidents of violence. It’s now perfectly evident that it is the losers of this election who are conducting violent protests and intimidation and property damage in a national tantrum of sorts. Arguably, it is the persistent and relentless disinformation of low-credibility news sources who have helped create this situation and there’s plenty of good argument for Trump not to conform nor reveal his plans to a gaggle of folks who have been monolithically against him. He has a job to do. He doesn’t need them.

So fight the accusations of fascism by doing exactly what a fascist would do. Brilliant!

I think Sean has proposed bold action and if not taken now, then when?
Our nation has a press that is corrupt and set against the people and we showed that with this election we will stand up for what is right

Give only one credential and give it to Breitbart. Let them be the pool reporter. Turn the press room into a museum where journalism once existed.

Continue to ridicule them to their faces.

Laura Ingram seems well-suited for this assignment. Probably would derive great enjoyment from it, too.

Fox News host Sean Hannity apparently believes that CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times should be excluded from the White House press corps while Donald Trump is president.

I agree.

I would laugh myself into a mild endorphine coma if Trump denied certain members of the Clinton-stained LSM receiving Daily Briefing Presidential Press Passes. You’d see a hissy fit more epic than a Provincetown petunia bar brawl over a spot on “Date Nite With Neil Patrick Harris & Bobby DeNiro.”

Since they qualify as ‘fake news sites’ I couldn’t agree more. In fact, few things Trump could do would make me happier.

In the words of “Philodemos”: “Every free man has a right to the use of the press, so he has to the use of his arms.” But if he commits libel, “he abuses his privilege, as unquestionably as if he were to plunge his sword into the bosom of a fellow citizen ....” Punishment, not “previous restraints,” was the remedy for misuse of either right.

Nope. Remember when Obama people tried to ban Fox News from Press Corps a few years back...Major news media threatened to stay away also, IIRC. White House relented. I like the idea that lets them in, but bars them from participating much.

The Administration has every right to declare fake news if Google Twitter and Facebook can, right?

I wouldn’t do it formally. Just make sure that the guys from RSBN, OANN and breitbart get the interviews, while the MSM gets nothing. Follow up with AMAs at reddit, a few interviews with reporters from local news in rust belt states, and you’ve got a winning strategy.

Absolutely. I suggested it too. So glad Sean is saying it in public.

I revere freedom of the press. Here’s how to do both fairly.

Trump’s admin needs to define a just and fair press organization. There must be an ATTEMPT to be nonpartisan. No one is perfect and the admin is only looking for an effort toward objective news. No one who fails to pass the definition should get access.

For how long? Maybe three months. Three months of proving your organization makes a reasonable effort to remain neutral.

Test for the nonpartisan attempt could be so simple.

1. Zero evidence you have colluded with one political side
2. An effort is made to investigate stories no matter which leader or party the story might impact (basically, not sitting on a story that is going viral elsewhere)
3. Your spokespeople in general either appear fair or are openly sharing their personal opinions (news readers for the former, talk hosts for the latter)
