NPR: Change the staff or shut the operation down
NPR News this morning | 13 November 2016 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

Posted on 11/13/2016 6:27:13 AM PST by MeneMeneTekelUpharsin

Mr. Trump, please, do something about NPR (National Public Radio) upon taking office. That is one media outlet that can be changed or shut down. This morning I listened to their propaganda and they were talking about some girl who had allegedly been mistreated at school after the election. She and a boy had heated discussions prior to the election and he said something after the election that offended her.

They used that incident as a platform to insinuate that Trump supporters all over the nation were persecuting Clinton supporters...when in reality, the exact opposite is true. Please do something about changing out the entire staff at NPR or shutting it down. We didn't vote for you to be harassed day in and day out by the opposition. All of this needs to stop now. We are not going to tolerate it.

NPR and public television could be sold off and the money returned to the Treasury.

NPR should be defunded, as with PBS. This ain’t the 1950’s anymore.

My vote is for Shut It Down ! It’s propaganda and we have to get rid of as much propaganda as we can for the sake of our children. Then we can start on cleaning up the schools by doing away with the Department of Education.

Good thing the Trump Administration is going to be like no Republican administration before it.

They do not represent the whole country. Not even close.

Listening to NPR this year to directly survey the enemy was extraordinarily useful, like eavesdropping-on-Mao useful.

Rehm Show features the same pool of 20 well-connected libtards, and it gave a real sense of how arrogant and bubbled they all were. More specifically we were able to share some of their persuasions: which #wikileaks they were most concerned with; which wedge issues played best to alienate Bernie Bros; the surprising libtard anathema towards the potential Cankles' pardon-thyself #ConstitutionalCrisis, like waving a cross at a vampire; their serial wasting of valuable airtime on Trump's discredited accusers.

It wasn't just limited to Rehm. All Things Considered repeatedly sent audio voyeurs into OH and PA to make fun of Trump supporters.

Taken from NPR website;;;;;;note the last sentence..PULL FEDERAL FUNDING!!!!!

Public Radio and Federal Funding

Stations receive support from many sources, including:
listener contributions,
corporate sponsorship,
in-kind and direct support from universities (when licensed to a college or university),
foundation grants and major gifts,
grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
in some cases, state and local governments
Federal funding is essential to public radio’s service to the American public. Its continuation is critical for both stations and program producers, including NPR.

Public radio stations receive annual grants directly from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) that make up an important part of a diverse revenue mix that includes listener support, corporate sponsorship and grants. Stations, in turn, draw on this mix of public and privately sourced revenue to pay NPR and other public radio producers for their programming.

These station programming fees comprise a significant portion of NPR’s largest source of revenue. The loss of federal funding would undermine the stations’ ability to pay NPR for programming, thereby weakening the institution.

Elimination of federal funding would result in fewer programs, less journalism—especially local journalism—and eventually the loss of public radio stations, particularly in rural and economically distressed communities.

NPR is not totally operated with taxpayer funds. I'm all for just defunding NPR.

Liberals can blow their money keeping this let wing propaganda a rag online if they choose.

Cokie Roberts can become a cleaning lady at a Trump hotel or something.

Subsidy should be cut off.
Until then at least impose the “fairness doctrine” on it.
It’s a government organ unprotected by First Amendment.

No need to shut it down. Just make it private. No more taxpayer subsidy. C-SPAN makes it on its own, PBS and NPR can too.

I agree, some shows are full of advertising already, such as This Old House, and the other shows stick you with Viking River Cruises and Ralph Lauren adverts in the introduction, as well as minutes of begging for your local station.

Let them work like all of the other local stations and see how big their audience really is...:^)

The day after the election, trying to understand the result, NPR interviewed the author of a book about hillbillies! I kid you not. (I never listen to NPR but wanted a nice serving of schadenfreude.)

They are so incredibly smug.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. They receive taxpayer money. Donald Trump should have a weekly radio and TV show on NPR and PBS. Utilize them to his benefit. Have time made available to conservatives too. Balance it out. They don’t have to remain cesspools of liberalism.

NPR can find their own charities to raid to stay in business. Just like Air America. Stop raiding my pocket.

Outstanding idea. Shuttung it down is provocative. Making it earn its own pay is another.

Just stop giving them taxpayer money. They can survive on their own. BPS, NPR, Children’s Television Workshop, Pacifica Radio, all of it.

They should force them to privatize the NPR and let them make it on their own. Let them take the Barney and the Muppets too.

We need a neutral public radio show created from scratch.
