We grew up early. The snotflakes, I don’t know. They’re on their own, unless they ask... But we’re always available to dispense our life’s wisdom.

Yes’m
My culinary teacher said a few weeks ago that no one wants to watch a tv chef cutting an onion which is why that’s generally edited out. All I could think of was Jacques Pepin whose knife skills are so impressive he elevates it to an art form. Julia Child always stood back in awe when he started his dicing! She never would let him see her cutting veggies.
An amazing man. Degrees from Columbia, designed the menus for Howard Johnson, a talented artist, the list just goes on with him.
Hello leaning conservative...
I like your idea of the sauce. I’ve used warmed onion jam, or apricot jam poured over the cream cheese. Served with crackers. You are right about it being easy, but people seem to really enjoy it!
Happy days are here again!
The pineapple is so cute but I need to avoid nuts due to a strong sudden allergy to macadamias.
I love finding cool gluten free recipes. Thanks.
Tonight I made another fantastic recipe from Ladled, a fantastic soup and stew cookbook. I figure out how to make the recipes work in a crock pot for Friday night sabbath dinners because I have to be gone all day Friday. If you love soup, buy this cookbook. It’s so healthy, everything homemade bone broth based. Great gift too.
People I feed do rave about these soups. A lot are meal soups too, add a salad or some crusty bread etc.
Adding to your gluten free tips. Thicken sauces with potato starch. Also, another way to do pesto is with pumpkin seeds. I am starting to substitute ground pumpkin seeds for ground nuts and it’s working really well.
That looks fantastic.
Story of my life. Most around me are libs. I try to avoid politics with those who couldn’t handle it, and discuss the things we do have in common.
I miss my dear old college friend who died of cancer so young. She was a liberal lesbian lawyer and so smart and curious. She always wanted to know why I thought the way I did about an issue and never mocked me but really asked questions until she understood. So respectful. Most libs just roll their eyes at you to their fellow libs and think you’re stupid/racist etc.
I have one friend very disappointed at the election results now, but she knows I was twice the last times, so I actually just said I was sorry, I understand how she feels, and we talk of other things.
Ah, you have a chilly night. I long for a chilly night. This is the hottest mid November I remember. It’s close to 90 every day. Cools off at night but chilly, no. (SoCal where illegals vote freely)
Great suggestions......added to my culinary repertoire.

I loved shopping at the Nugget market in our prior home in northern CA. They always had food items/recipes throughout the store that you could try, as well as cooking classes etc.
This is a great appetizer:
This election cycle has been brutal for us, with some long time friendships ending and family members placing their politics before their siblings.

You’re right. It’s very similar. I see in some of the comments that those who make the dish have the same problem I’ve had. People don’t tend to like the “idea” of the dish, especially if you tell them what’s in it. Horseradish? Mustard? Whaaa..??
I’ve learned to deflect answering the question of what’s in it. Once they taste it, they’re hooked. I’ve never taken it to a gathering that I haven’t been asked for the recipe, so I always print some recipes to have at the ready when I bring it to a potluck. Also, a batch of the sauce has become a welcomed Christmas gift to several on my Christmas list.
