I am sure thats how the orders were given. The just asked nicely.
I am for cops but we need peace officers that actualy think about stuff and live by th Golden Roe, not zero-tolerance tsa groupthink law enforcement officers.

My observation is that POs these days appear to be under tremendous time pressure which causes them to make dumb decisions. I see it repeatedly, if only the POs had simply de-escalated
And there you have it. When then went from PO's, Peace Officers, to LEO's, Law Enforcement Officers, that was the point where police lost contact with their community. No one recognizes the beat cop, there is no connection. Cops feel like outsiders, and they are, and they feel threatened, so they lash out. Bring back the beat cop.
Hawaii has neighborhood boards which meet once a month, and the police always send two or three PO's from that neighborhood to answer questions. Jaywalk and chances are you will be recognized and politely lectured rather than issued a $110 ticket. I like that, and would be glad to help those Officers if they ever needed assistance.
