I know this is not a priority, but...symbolism is important. And Barack Obama and his reprehensible scummy partners made a specific point of trying to destroy this piece of symbolism.

Furthermore, I admit, I am not a particular fan of this sculpture style, but it is the symbolism that is important here.

Churchill once said: "You have enemies? Good. That means you stood up for something, sometime in your life."

Truer words were never spoken. Let's make more enemies, and start by bringing back the sculpture of that most important and honorable of men, making enemies of the people who went to such lengths to disparage his meaning and memory.

The bust should be among his first moves after taking office.

Reaching out to PM Theresa May, to graciously welcome a return of the Jacob Epstein bust of Winston Churchill to it’s place of honor in the White House, will I’m sure be on the agenda for the first 100 days.

I disagree. This is a priority. We are a sea-power. We and our friends control the Atlantic and Pacific to support free trade. Our friends and allies are, first, UK, CA, AZ, NZ, Japan, and a few others, first. Winnie goes back in the white house.

A few other symbolic gestures:

CNN, and Washington Post, MSNBC, and a couple of others are barred from access to the white house. CNN will no longer play in any federal facility. Too far gone. Irredemable. Megyn - nice knowing you.

Comey resign! Just go. You soiled your self.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think one of President Trump’s first official actions should be respectfully requesting that the people of the U.K. return that bust to its rightful place in the Whitehouse.

YUP. Undo everything that was done, and then some. And let the Clinton and Foundation crime investigations lead wherever they go, to Obama himself if they go there.

He should send the letter now. It should be carried with his inauguration party and installed in the WH upon his arrival there after the inauguration.

Many conservatives fail to grasp the approach by liberals to symbols. Their arsenal involves intentional and active destruction, defacement, ridicule, re-definition, and outright appropriation of symbols to further their goals.

Everything from the word "gay" and the rainbow, to the word "liberal" itself, which used to have quite a different political meaning.

Hm. Who else in the world (besides liberals) shares this perverted philosophy about destroying symbols of their opponents? Let me think...

I’m an art school grad and studied semiotics. There’s way more going on in music, art and design than most conservatives would ever believe.

YES! Bring back Winnie! Nothing would get the Brits “on side” quicker and be more popular than this simple act. It sticks it to Obozo big time.

And Nigel Farage is just the guy who should do it at their first meeting in the White House.

I think I’m going to use that Churchill quote as my tag-line.

From a symbolism perspective...yes, no doubt there. You might like this: Bill Whittle: The Power & Danger of Iconography

I went on a road trip a couple of years ago...I have a lot more vacation time than my spouse, so I took a week and went on a road trip to see America. It was great. No agenda...just got in my car and drove where I wanted to, listening to blaring music and smoking cigars with the windows down and moon-roof open!

As I was driving through Missouri (of all places) I saw a sign for...the Winston Churchill Museum! (It was where he gave his famous "Iron Curtin" speech) I have always regarded Winston Churchill as one of the most important and significant figures of the 20th century, so...I pulled right off the highway and followed the signs to Fulton, Missouri.

I loved it. They had a great museum store, and I bought a book of Churchill quotes!

Based on your map you probably passed within 25 miles of my house. If you’re going to be visiting Virginia again any time soon let me know and maybe we can get together. Bourbon and cigars will be on me.

You bet! I made a bunch of trips down that way (I was born in Norfolk, lived in VA and MD for a few years) and spent a lot of time and became good friends with a lot of the DC Chapter of FR...they just sent me an invite to their Christmas Party, but I can’t go...darn it.

So, yes...I look forward to meeting any Freeper in person, because I haven’t been disappointed!
