Alcohol will be banned from streets and public places and if Qatari officials get their way even stadiums during the 2022 World Cup, the head of the countrys tournament organizing committee said on Tuesday.
The comments by Hassan Al-Thawadi will further alarm football traditionalists already unhappy that the tournament will be moved to the winter because of fierce summer temperatures in Qatar.

Whats the point of having “The cup” if the only thing to put in it is camel urine?
This should have been a requirement to bid in the first place in order to match up with the average soccer fan.
Soccer fan come to game drunk, unshaven, unbathed wearing week old clothes which stink of booze, urine and f@rts. They blow their vuvuzuela until they fall down, puke over the lower three rows and then go for another beer.
FIFA is run by corrupt morons.
The issue of alcohol in the stadiums during games should have been settled before awarding the World Cup to a third-world Muslim-controlled hellhole.
Of course, if FOFA was sane, they would not have awarded the cup to a third-world Muslim-run hellhole umber ANY circumstances.
No booze at the World Cup!!! That’s inhuman torture!!! Next thing you know, they will put the female fans in burkas.
Oh, that’s gonna fly... Alcohol-free soccer? Maybe they’ll all drop acid...
There go the English hooligans I means fans.
Somebody seriously needs to show these camelhumpers how much booze can add to a restaurant ticket. They’re going to have to replace oil revenue with something.
Soccer is a sissy sport which is watched and played almost entirely by Leftists (its fans mostly hail from Europe or other gay places like NYC), so this isn’t really a surprise.
Ironic, that the leftists in this country run our sports.
