Since she actually is pregnant, how could she have “...not look[ed] pregnant five minutes ago”?
It was sure nice of the Walmart employee to give the pregnant lady a reason to sue Walmart for a million dollars!
Um, fake “pregnant” suits are a common tool of some criminals. See for example https://youtu.be/Pbi-SmYiOXY
WHAAAAA! Woe is me!
What is it with people and their desire to be a victim. So what. She had to show him that she wasn’t stealing by her shirt. Was the employee just doing his job or somehow “dissing” her?
If it’s that much trouble, shop somewhere else!
I figured this would be one of those “Are you preganant?” “No.” “Would you like to be?” stories.
That’ll look impressive on that guy’s unemployment application: “I asked a pregnant woman to prove she was pregnant.” Even more interesting when answering the question on the employment application about why he left his last job.
how could she have ...not look[ed] pregnant five minutes ago?
= = =
This IS Walmart, remember.
You can get pregnant fast in there.
Depending on clothing, it might not be obvious from some angles.
But, setting all that aside: the employee had no right to conduct what amounts to an illegal search.
The woman should have said: call a police officer, and if you can convince him I'm a shoplifter, I'll consent to HIS search.
“What is it with people and their desire to be a victim. So what. She had to show him that she wasnt stealing by her shirt.”
She was sexually assaulted.
Posture, primarily. At about five months I could look like I wasn’t pregnant at all or just about to go into labor just by changing the way I stood.
I figured this would be one of those Are you preganant? No. Would you like to be? stories.
Worst pick up line in the world. And I say that as a guy. LOL
A serious lack of knowledge by this woman. Would that we would ALL understand the Constitution!
Security: Ma’am are you pregnant?
Woman: Why do you ask? Please call the “real police” if you have any further questions. Bye.
And, by-the-way, any attempt to physically detain me will be considered assault. I can legally respond to such actions up-to and including the use of any legally possessed weapons I may currently have.
Followed by a simple, “Capice?”
So proving she didn’t shoplift = she was raped!??!!
As a teenager I worked in a grocery store, and I was running a cash register when this black woman comes zipping in between the lines with cokes in each hand.
I stopped her and said “Mam, do you have a receipt for that?”
Instant Angry Black Woman!!!
She did have a receipt. She had paid and for whatever reason had to go back to get the cokes. One of the other cashiers backed her up, but not before I’d gotten a good cussing!
Store manager came out and backed me up though.
She should have realized what it looked like and just shown me her receipt, instead of coping an attitude.
“What is it with people and their desire to be a victim.”
You mean you would turn your pockets out in the aisle just because a Walmart employee “ordered” you to?
Who empowered a Walmart employee to search a customer? And in public to boot.
Until I dropped 20 pounds, so could I have looked pregnant. And, I’m a guy.
SAexual-profiling is frowned upon these days.
