I just finished voting in Berkley. It took me exactly 40 minutes. One of the guys that was working the election said it was their biggest turnout in a long time, so far (poll was only open an hour). Anyway, they check ID and signature. The ballots are fill-in-the-circle. Then we feed the ballot into a tallying machine. These are the same machines they’ve had for at twenty years, so I’m sure they don’t belong to Soros. As you feed your ballot you can also watch to make sure the counter increments. I was number 267.
I also noticed that, on the ballot, Republicans were listed first in every category. Berkley, apparently, has more *registered* Democrats that registered Republicans. But it is close and party registration is not necessary. I am not registered to any party. So the party registration numbers may be meaningless.
We are in Boston township. Typically long lines for a presidential election which is one reason we voted absentee. Same fill in the blank paper ballots and optical reader.
