Halloween is a spooky night, but there's nothing scary about this sad pit bull dressed up for the occasion.
William, an 18 year old from Massachusetts, posted a heartbreaking to Twitter of his dog Dublin on Halloween. He was apparently sad that no trick-or-treaters wanted to pet the dog while his mother handed out candy.
William is away from home at college, but called his mom on Halloween night to catch up. That's when she told him the heartbreaking news.
"She was passing out candy and said that my dog was crying because people wouldn't pet him. That broke my heart, because my dog is the sweetest thing ever," William told Mashable.
William's tweet has racked up over 48,000 retweets at the time of writing and upset a ton of dog lovers in the process.

Pit bulls kill, maim, sever limbs etc. but what's important here is that a dog secured where it can watch people arrive is unhappy if people are too well-informed to pet it. The owner could have put the dog somewhere else while passing out candy, the humans must have the "right thoughts" and actions, not the dog. SICK
I don’t like trick or treating anymore.
The idea of knocking on everyone’s door and demanding candy just doesn’t feel right.
You’ll never make it as a Democrat.
Maybe you should stop then, and just let the kids do it.
Especially once you get past 40.
Ha! I left myself wide open for that one.
Should have said I don’t believe in it.
Couldn’t resist
Lol!
I don’t blame you.
;)
Or an IRS agent.
Wait... is that redundant?
You're supposed to scare people, not terrorize them.
I’ve met all kinds of dogs [and critters], and never been bitten in my lifetime. A kind demeanor and gentle hands go a long ways to making new friends.
I’ve been around several breeds in my life, from labs to terriers, spaniels to mixed.
My American bulldog is the best I’ve ever known.
I hit ‘Abuse’ since the poster couldn’t resist adding ‘Dogs of Peace’ to the title of the article.
But one of the birds was absolutely the homliest animal I had ever seen. It was like a giant feces with wings. I offered him a pellet of food anyway. He was the kindest, most gentle animal I think I have ever met. I ended up giving him all the pellets I had and petted him quite a bit. Had he been for sale, I would have bought him.
Yeah there is no mercy here.
One can always go as the IRS or some other govt agency and demand candy.
Giant feces with wings....ROFLMAO!!!
If I was stupid enough to leave an opening like that then I had it coming.
:)
Candy is toxic now. Sugar is replaced by hyper sweet chemicals.
Bought 2 big bags of post Halloween candy. Ate a few then threw all in the trash. I do not miss it.
I’m not real big on candy anymore either.
Mini binge a few times a year but normally can take it or leave it.
There are some pit bulls that are the sweetest dogs on the face of the earth.
I’ve met them.
Some of them are treated like pure sh*t by some of the lowest forms of human life on this planet, and that has resulted in some mean, powerful dogs, as there are other pit bulls that are quite dangerous.
I’ve met them too, I’ve seen stories, I’ve seen videos of them ripping an old man to pieces and leaving the flesh in the street.
If you find yourself in a situation, you’ve got to go with your gut and act accordingly.
Poor dog has a very bad rep, and there’s reason for it, and some of the get discriminated against even though they are kind.
I blame certain people who have owned them who had no damn business owning them or any other living creature.
