The LAPD is investigating another possible hate crime after someone spray painted an obscenity followed by the words “white art” on the front of an art gallery.
The numbers 187 – the penal code for murder – at the top of the tag was also disturbing. Community activists have accused more than a dozen art galleries that recently moved into the mostly- Hispanic neighborhood, east of Downtown L.A., of helping to drive up rents and pushing out the working class.
LAPD officials confirm there were three separate acts of vandalism against three different art galleries and all are being investigated as potential hate crimes.

LAPD did have a meeting with art gallery owners last month, trying to gauge how many business owners felt they’ve been targeted by activists.
“They’ve been having protests here for the past year or more. None of the galleries want to get involved,” Mihai Nicodim owner of the art gallery that got tagged said.
No one at any of the art galleries contacted would comment on the issue or the vandalism, fearing for their safety and their livelihood.

Boyle. Just like West Oakland. The locals love gangs who decrease property values and hate yuppies who increase property values. May the yuppies move in to clean up Boyle and West Oakland. Crime needs to decrease and not increase.

To paraphrase Spike Lee, these white mothers move in, pushing their strollers, not respecting the history and culture of the ghetto, as people move in and fix up and rehab former slum areas.
Do we live in different worlds from liberal radical activist types??? To these people, it is preferable for a bad neighborhood to remain a crime ridden gang ridden slum, rather than become a “victim” of “gentrification”, or any efforts to clean up and rehab a bad neighborhood.

I remember Spike Lee saying that; does he understand that blacks in NYC live in building built and paid for by white people? If anyone doesn’t respect the history & culture of those areas, it is the unassimilated ferals that tear them up and tag them with graffiti...
