Professor who tweeted against PC culture out at NYU

An NYU professor crusading against political correctness and student coddling was booted from the classroom last week after his colleagues complained about his “incivility,” The Post has learned.

Liberal studies prof Michael Rectenwald, 57, said he was forced Wednesday to go on paid leave for the rest of the semester.

This story is absolutely chilling. It reminded me of Nazi Germany, people informing on others, innocent activities being punished by The Authorities, fueled by Mouths of Babes. College is supposed to be an incubator for students to explore different points of view, different ways of living, different cultures, etc. I never formerly heard of professors promulgating perfectly reasonable points of view being castigated by the administration on the basis of making some spoiled grossly immature brat students uncomfortable with the responsibility of having to evaluate their own actions.

I suppose I should not be surprised, as libtards close in on our rights to differ (Trump supporters being physically attacked, their political posters being stolen or defaced, etc. is a great example), and NYC school system students threaten to submit false statements about their teachers if the teachers don't give them what they want, e.g. let them play with their phones during class, pass virtually everyone whether they turn in any work or not, etc.

It's just a symptom of a society that has become infected with the libtard pathogen of living in LaLaland, with no one having to take responsibility for their actions.

It reminds me of The Cultural Revolution in China, where students would publicly shame their teachers.

It's time to get a lawyer and sue NYU out of business.

A 12-person committee calling itself the Liberal Studies Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group, ...

“As long as he airs his views with so little appeal to evidence and civility, we must find him guilty of illogic and incivility in a community that predicates its work in great part on rational thought and the civil exchange of ideas.”

... and a couple people had expressed concern about his mental health

= = =
He needs to be paraded through town, wearing a dunce cap with his crimes written on it.

Then machine gun him in front of a freshly dug trench.

We are seeing 1984 and Animal Farm being played out in modern America.

Our university system's dumbed-down - -- too many unqualified 'students' too many colleges - - and waaaaay too many intellectually challenged instructors.

If this isn’t the ‘Return of the Body Snatchers’, I don’t know what is. What a sick institution higher education has become.

Yes, chilling indeed.

About the only honest word in that name is "Group".

Incredible ignorance and intolerance!

““We seek to create a dynamic community that values full participation. “

Says the people who placed him on leave.

I guess they don’t see the irony/hypocrisy in that statement.

Undfortunately for this professor, he made the mistake of believing that universities were interested in the Truth; a very silly assumption.

Univerities have always existed to inculcate the young in the currently accepted social dogma.

Any sane or conservative person in higher education needs to understand that they have no backup and no friends. Many will quietly agree with you on matters of political correctness, but they will never stand by you if you are challenged. Most people, from the faculty to the maintenance people, live in terrible fear for their jobs. I have never seen a more vile, vicious, and unhinged group in my life than the social justice warriors in administration. Fascism is alive and well in academia, and it will take generations, or a corrective purge, to clean it up.
