music *ping*
Jimmy Page is the best guitar player.
On this song he highlights his Fender Telecaster with a Parson & White “B” Bender which is how he gets those swelling vibrato string bends. It is adapted from the pedal actuated String Benders used on Pedal Steel guitars, hence the term “Pedal”
The Rain Song is an alternate tuning that he invented
Achilles Last Stand has a musical scale that he invented
Used to love The Honeydrippers.
“Noooor-ton!”

Loved this song, and the whole album since it came out! Robert Plant has such a marvelous voice! I love how he has, over the years, diversified himself by dabbling in many different genres of music. He’s done some wonderful work with another of my favorites, Alison Krauss.

1959 Phil Philips the ONLY “Sea of Love”.
“The honey-dipper was the guy who hunted for lost glasses and whatever else was dropped in outhouse cesspools.”
WHO in their right mind would name themselves “The Honeydippers?
did someone say Achilles Last Stand? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9K-Zv_pTfk
Interesting Lake, I’ve never met a Democrat Led Zeppelin fanatic. All of those who have live versions of Kashmir in their car, blasting Bonhams interludes, tend to have Trump stickers on their car as well. I’ve noticed this since the mid-eighties.
Wow - from 1977 too! Most impressive - I assumed it was Knebenworth 1979 when I clicked on it. What power and Bonzos drumming is well Bonzo

Even back then, the name “Honeydrippers” created lots of giggles, because of its similarity to the 1920s slang “Honeydipper”, which was a person who emptied cesspools.
Though a honey dipper is a wooden kitchen implement for honey.
The group was named after bluesman Roosevelt Sykes, aka “Honeydripper”.
This was my wedding song!
The Honeydripper--The Honeydrippers (1945)
Wasn’t the name “Honeydrippers” from the line from “Black Dog”
Hey, hey baby when you walk that way
Watch your honey drip, I can’t keep away
