I can't recall where we landed exactly on trade. Is she going to say she supports it? Regardless of her position, signing a letter feels like poking the bear with labor to me.

All of the leaks are Podesta emails.
Are these the only emails Wikileaks is going to leak?
I thought we were going to see Hillary’s emails.
No clue—I am not on Assange’s personal email list. :-)
Not that you know of, anyway...
think hillary doesn’t have an original thought, Podesta, Mills, Huma, etc think for her-Parkinson’s
Hadn’t seen this exchange reported previously. Here they are trying to fill spots in Obama’s administraion in 2008. White men need not apply. Asians maybe.

That sucks. Can you call Larry and see what minorities he would put in top tier? Could be an asian. I know this isn’t Larry’s taste, but better if a woman.

Said no. She was terribly flattered, etc., but she’s one year into a 5-year commitment as dean at Univ of Michigan, just moved her family back from DC to Michigan and regrets that this is the wrong time to take on something like this.
I didn’t let her say no during the first call, but after consulting with her husband and thinking about it, she called back. She, of course, would like to be helpful from where she is, etc.
John, I don’t how you want to go back to him on things like this. I don’t think there is another candidate of color who folks would be comfortable putting up as Chair, though either Ceci or Peter (as a stretch) could be a Member.
Thoughts?

Subject: Howard’s advice
when bloomberg was having problems w the times he called Arthur
schulzburger and asked for coffee. He made the case that they were
treating him like a billionaire dilettante instead of Third term mayor. It
changed the coverage moderately but also aired the issues in the newsroom
so people were more conscious of it. But Arthur is a pretty big wuss so
he’s not going to do a lot more than that.
Hillary would have to be the one to call.
He also thinks the brown and women pundits can shame the times and
others on social media. So cultivating Joan Walsh, Yglesias, Allen, perry
bacon, Greg Sargent, to defend her is helpful. They can be emboldened. Fwiw
