Mr Trump declared in his New York speech, wrongly, that the US has the highest taxes in the world. Politifact says it is actually ranked near the bottom among OECD countries.

What did Trump actually say?

We have the highest corporate marginal rate, among Western democracies.

The result has been multinationals like Apple, etc. parking or using profits offshore, instead of repatriating the funds back to the US where it would be used to grow the US economy.

Apple has actually borrowed money in the US for expansion, rather than bringing back profits.
