Don’t underestimate the power of human curiosity.

The only caveat I'd add to that comment relates to our current cultural climate. In other words, if it is about sex, violence or some other sort of prurient sleaze, the American public will take note. Scandals involving legalities and anything remotely technical don't draw enough interest, sadly.
