It is getting late, yet I made up my mind to sit down at the laptop to write these couple of sentences. Today I have read what Ms. Bakuła said: Without abortion, cripples would be born into this world. I have also read the following commentary: Rather than fight about abortion, we should think about what to do so that so many cripples would not be born. I partly know that answer to how to dramatically limit this fact; I wont even mention some private emails here.
I am disabled. I am a person who, in many peoples opinion, should not have been born at all! I am burdened with a congenital disease and a dozen or so other medical conditions; I do not have a left leg. The thirty years of my life so far have been full of trials and tribulations. This does not matter, though. Ever since I was 15, I have worked really hard, as my family was unable to provide for me. I have dedicated each and every free moment to be close to other people: in hospices, oncology hospital wards, childrens homes, prisons, care centers, railway stations, parks, corporate offices, churches, pubs, etc. I have been meeting the homeless, sick and poor. I have spoken face-to-face with popes, heads of state, cardinals, so-called celebrities, and prostitutes. I have been meeting politicians and successful entrepreneurs, children, young people, adults, and the elderly, believers and those who do not believe in God. Children and adults have been dying in my arms. I have loved and hated. As everyone else, I have had my dreams.
I have had my share of physical and spiritual suffering in life, too. I have been homeless, rejected and betrayed. As a young kid I heard my father say he was repulsed by me; these were actually his deathbed words. When I was being anesthetized on an operating table I had a premonition I would never open my eyes again.
I have heard so many times that my life sucks. And still, I would not swap my life for any other, as I am a happy man! If I had had a choice when I was, as some claim, an embryo, Id have said under my moms heart: Mom! Please, let me live! Even if you are anxious or do not want to, please let me live. I will manage on my own. I will not be a burden for you. Only let me live, please.
By common standards we did not have much and yet my mom would spare no effort to let me take wing like a bird. She let me come to life and this is the greatest gift of all. She has chosen life! My life!
When today I hear and read that abortion is supposed to prevent the births of persons with disabilities, I ask myself a question: Why shouldnt I have been born? Has anyone lost anything because of me? Do not the love and heart I have lavished on everyone really deserve to exist? Why are there people who do not want those like me to live? Is it so hard to live our lives side by side with one other? Am I a burden for you?
I love life. I love my friends. Each and every day I keep discovering the beauty of mankind and the world. I have my feelings, too. Although you see my smiling face, believe me: I do cry! I cry when I see your pain, suffering and tears and cannot help you in any way. I do not have much, but I have a loving heart and I want to offer it to you. I want to offer you my time. Does it really mean nothing to you?
When you are so vociferous about the right to abortion, stop! Look round and think that perhaps someone you love, your best friend, someone you value highly, who would offer you all of his or her heart is a child who was not supposed to live. Think that they were supposed to have been aborted. Then look at me, please! Look me deep in the eye. Look deep into my blue eyes with tears in them and tell me: would you rather I was not alive today?
No matter what your response, I am thankful for your presence in my life, as you are its part and parcel; its Treasure.
Abortionists believe that we must exterminate all of the inconvenient people in the world, all of the inferior people in the world, all of the unwanted people in the world. Of course they are the ones who get to choose which people are inconvenient, inferior or unwanted. It’s the philosophy of Hillary Clinton, Margaret Sanger, Adolf Hitler and the Daleks.
This fellow reminds me of a roommate I had in college. He had cerebral palsy but that didn’t stop him from being the most optimistic friend I ever had. Barely able to walk, subject to frequent falls and muscle spasms, he would joke about spilling his beer and his slow typing skills. He had friends everywhere. At the bar we frequented, the owner would joke with him, “Hi, you weak son of a bitch!” And that joke never seemed to get old. Although his disability was obvious, it was soon forgotten by people he met, befriended and inspired.
Paraphrasing Chesterton:
The answer to anyone who talks about the inconvenient, inferior or unwanted is to ask him whether he is inconvenient, inferior or unwanted; or if he is not, how he knows he is not.
What are moving piece.
When I was growing up, when I saw someone who was crippled or mentally handicapped, my mother told me:
“These are God’s special children and we will be judged on how we treat them”.
I have dear friends who have a daughter with cerebral palsy who just went to Cambodia on a 6 week mission trip. She certainly blessed all those she came in contact with over there. She definitely has the Jesus’ spirit inside her and loves to share that with everyone. I love being around her and absolutely do not find her a burden or inconvenient.
If HRC and her monstrous ilk are allowed to get the upper hand, then it’s Aktion T4 comin’ atcha.
give me a person that struggled in life and has a good personality any day over one that life has not given them challenges. it is the fact that it is the struggle that builds personality and makes us a better person. if we were to allow the Margret sangers of the world to determine who was of value we would die as a species as with each generation are definition of who is valuable gets narrower and narrower tell we get to the point that all that makes us human is gone.

Pragmatism started out OK when it limited itself to scientific discovery, however it got expanded to include ethics and led to nuisances such as Dewey and Rorty.
The pragmatic thing to do with regard to those with disabilities is to attempt to determine which fetuses will develop into humans with disabilities and abort them for "their own good".
Does anyone really want to associate themselves with such a horrifying philosophy?
Conservatives should not pat themselves on the back for being pragmatic, even if they mean it in the colloquial sense. The word has a very evil heritage and should go into disuse as soon as possible.
After searching around a bit more I found a tweet pointing to “Ms. Bakula” - whose comments were apparently the impetus for this post.

May God bless the pro-life movement in Poland, and may He have mercy on us all.
My screen is very blurry.
Such golden words. No one needed to convince me on this issue ever. But, how anyone can think of killing an unborn baby I just don’t comprehend. I am a woman. My choice is all babies have their chance to live. This is being shared.
Every pro lifer should use this quote .....
IMO, “abortion as a right” is a direct, satanic assault against the teaching that we are created in God’s image; it is at it’s core, modern-day child-sacrifice to appease the god of self.
