Alan Parsons is one of the most imaginative groups of the late 20th century. Their “Gaudi” album is a masterpiece

Dr. Evil: The key to this project is the giant laser, which was invented by the noted Cambridge physicist, Dr. Parsons. Therefore, we shall call it: “The Alan Parsons Project”.

Ammonia Avenue is a great album. One of many good songs on that album.

The Alan Parsons Project
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alan Parsons Project were a British progressive rock band, active between 1975 and 1990,[1] consisting of Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson surrounded by a varying number of session musicians and some relatively consistent band members such as guitarist Ian Bairnson, bassist and vocalist David Paton, drummer Stuart Elliott, and vocalist Lenny Zakatek.

Behind the revolving line-up and the regular sidemen, the true core of the Project was the duo of Parsons and Woolfson. Woolfson was a songwriter by profession, but also a composer and pianist. Almost all songs on the band’s albums are credited to “Parsons/Woolfson”.

I didn’t know that they were British. I remember “Eye In The Sky”.

Alan Parsons Project – Don’t Answer Me Lyrics

If you believe in the power magic,
I can change your mind
And if you need to believe in someone,
Turn and look behind
When we were living in a dream world,
Clouds got in the way
We gave it up in a moment of madness
And threw it all away

Don’t answer me, dont break the silence
Don’t let me win
Don’t answer me, stay on your island
Don’t let me in

Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things we’ve said and done?

If you believe in the power of magic,
Its all a fantasy
So if you need to believe in someone,
Just pretend its me
It ain’t enough that we meet as strangers
I cant set you free
So will you turn your back forever on what you mean to me?

Don’t answer me, don’t break the silence
Don’t let me win
Don’t answer me, stay on your island
Don’t let me in

Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things weve said and done?

I've always found Woolfson's "Turn of a Friendly Card" to be marvelously compelling.

Bairnson is a beast on guitar.

Bairnson and Paton were the core of the band Pilot, who recorded “Ho Ho Ho (It’s Magic). That’s Paton on vocals. And Parsons produced that song.

Thanks.
It’s interesting how many musicians have played with each other over their careers. Very cool.

Parsons also produced “The Air That I Breathe” by the Hollies. And in turn Alan Clarke lent his vocals to “Breakdown” on “I, Robot.”
