Life totally changed in the 80’s and not as much time spent in the enjoyment of music. There are certainly a great number of tunes that have never been known to exist in this small, little corner of the world. Music changed, life changed and the wheel goes round and round.

Do remember The Talking Heads, but only vaguely. Do not remember anything about this group. nada. In the 80’s there were the radio stations and Much Music out of the CBC on the large satellite dish from which to choose. If not heard here, all was silent. Now ask about Culture Club! That is remembered; or Cyndi Lauper, the Eurythmics, Grace Jones.

The Eurythmics music was very professionally written and produced, mostly by David Stewart and Annie. All parts were seamlessly compatible. The sum total effects were pleasing to the ear and energizing to the spirit. “Sweet Dreams” being but one of the gems. Only Anne Lennox with her Areatha Franklin voice juxtaposed with her “Thin White Duke” persona could have pulled it off with essence and mystique intact.
That group was High Art. Grace Jones was also unique and influential in her way. Both “Lily’s” guilded to perfection.

Was overjoyed when Much Music somehow showed up as the fifth channel on our terrestrial TV lineup in 1985! Even won a MM sweatshirt (way too small) for calling in during the middle of the night to answer a trivia question on Phantom, Rocker, & Slick!!
