This storm Mathew has the POTENTIAL of effecting every Freeper on the East coast all the way north to Boston.

Here is an e- mail I sent my friends this AM.

"Hi Guys Looks like I am OK going to Bermuda from Boston , on the Norwegian Dawn, leaving at 4PM Fri Oct 7th and arriving Bermuda 1PM Sunday. Bermuda is about 600 miles due east of Savanna Georgia and well out of the proposed track of hurricane Mathew.

The latest track forecast has Boston involved. The return trip from Bermuda on the following Weds and Thurs and Fri AM at sea could be a different story if Mathew hasn’t made it north of our course coming back from Bermuda, or gone inland somewhere along the coast.

This storm Mathew has the potential of affecting everyone of us one way or the other.

Here is the latest projection. –Tom

“Bermuda is about 600 miles due east of Savanna Georgia and well out of the proposed track of hurricane Mathew. “

The Capt. of the SS El Faro said pretty much the same thing the last time he left port.

If it hits New England it won’t be my first hurricane by a long shot. But regardless of what happens my homeowner’s insurance will certainly go up next year.

Actually only two. Very very very wet and very very very windy. Or maybe one more. Don’t fly your airplane if you have one or are deciding to rent.

Worry about Nicole.

Good point on Nicole.

I saw a few days back that Nicole could form and directly threaten Bermuda , looks like that is the case now.

Nicole shows no threat to the East Coast but Mathew certainly does. Nicole might affect me and my wife , but Mathew could affect the entire east coast. - Tom

We look forward to viewing videos of everything in your cabin being tossed from side to side and of you puking into the trash can.

Cheers!

I would ‘think’, that after hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, folks just might have a good idea what these storms can do.

I am a Katrina survivor, so ‘I’ know that i know, that i know!

A storm this size can, and just might, kill y’all on the East Coast. (Although in my dark desires, a few folks tied to chairs in Washington, D.C., just might be the ‘right offering to the god of storms’.)

So, for all those do matter, get your stuff together NOW, fill your vehicle with fuel, make your plans QUICKLY, and just don’t be there, should the storm come that-a way.

And ... THAT INCLUDES NO BEACH PARTIES WATCHING THE WAVES COME IN!!! (Y’all do that ... just bend and kiss it, cause y’all goners!)

Once again the Weather Channel tells us nothing. What a useless waste of bandwidth.

Weather Channel is useless.

I follow Joe Bastardi on Twitter. I have a lot of respect for Joe's forecasts.

Joe has this storm sideswiping FL and then going out to sea after Cape Hatteras. Storm will gradually weaken as it moves north. Cooler waters - it's October.

Water’s still pretty warm up to the southern tip of Hatteras Island. North of there, it drops off quickly. Of course, it does that in summer, too. You can have 80 degree water at south Hatteras and 67 at Duck.

Surf’s up, cowabunga. Get your kite board out and run as fast as you can to the beach.

As long as it doesn't affect any of them, it's no big deal.

I hate to break this to you but about 6-7 years ago your homeowners insurance stopped covering damage caused by hurricanes. I remember receiving the notice, I looked at other companies and they all did the same thing. I moved south since then but I remember being pissed because hurricanes are the biggest risk most NE homeowners face (other than fire).
