I can see why he would. It opens the discussion to tax reform and shows people how little they know about how they are being ripped off by the CCF.

I strongly suspect he did. It serves three purposes:

1. It gives him an excuse never to release any of them ("I am outraged over this violation of my privacy, and my lawyer advised me not to release any tax returns until we get to the bottom of this.")

2. It allows him to play the victim and paint the media in a bad light.

3. Another astute Freeper pointed out that his more recent tax returns may be out there, and many of them may show $0 in income taxes paid. Releasing this return with the $900 million in carry-forward losses would help establish the context for those later returns with no taxes paid.

Of course not.

He better stay focused on who it is that he is running against.

I think there’s an ethics issue here if he did this. He would be misleading the public with a stunt like this.

Either way, he can pick up the mantle and bash the IRS for illegally releasing them.

As much as the Clintons and the Dhimmis already have so corrupted the IRS, and every other governmental agency, I suspect they already know all there is about Trump’s taxes. They just haven’t “leaked” anything because they know it’s too squeaky clean to be of any benefit to them.

Silly question, of he did NOT release his own tax returns in this manner.

It would be foolish and any perceived gain would be wiped out if it was found out that he leaked it.

The NYT did something very stupid on many levels — they will regret it!

The NYT think we are stupid and have no idea how the tax system works in terms of losses being carried forward.

Idiots!

They were obviously leaked by John Miller.

I don’t think he leaked them because of a few things that came down during the debate. First of all, he mentioned where some of his taxes can be viewed...legally. Refer to the debate for exact details.

Secondly, when Clinton mentioned his taxes, she accused him of not paying taxes. She had that side glance KNOWING in her face and taunting tone of voice. She clearly KNEW what was on at least some of his taxes. I remember wondering HOW she would KNOW. Well, she’s a lawyer (liar) and she knows better than to ask questions she doesn’t know the answers to.

Therefore I summize that she was behind it, she already saw it, she knew what was on it.

Watch Trump’s body language. Totally defensive when she brings up the fact that he hadn’t paid any taxes.

Well, the fact of the matter is, any loopholes he may have utilized are available to ANYBODY to utilize if they qualify for them. You can go to H&R Block and receive...free...books to plan your spending so that you can better YOURSELF rather than the government. The government has decided you must let go of a certain amount of income, but you have the choice as to how to do that.

You can take that money and invest it in areas that give you tax breaks. Yes, you can do that and there is NOTHING wrong with it. It’s not legally wrong, and it’s not morally wrong.

But Hellary has to appeal to low information voters in order to pull off her lies and stunts. People with means, know better. They pay accountants to assist them in that very thing...which is also a tax deduction.

Trump is very unlikely to have picked returns that make him look incompetent (such as running up massive losses in his business ventures).

Trump should not sue over it, because that would be an admission that he considers the contents of the returns damaging to himself. He should pound on the NYT as hypocrites (everybody hates hypocrites) and criminals in league with a criminal’s campaign.

No.
Apparently he talked about this at length years ago, so no surprise if the return was released then as a point of discussion and now rediscovered as Hillary’s minions frantically search for dirt.

Can anyone explain why the -91 is in a different font and alignment than the 5,729,293?

If the -91 is omitted, it then looks normal.

I don’t think he released them. Just opinions and speculation...
* He’d need to have admitted the prank hours ago. He’s let it go longer than needed to make the points you listed.
* If he did release them, they better be fake - since Marla’s name is on them - wouldn’t he be breaking the law he’s alleging NYT broke?

It’s entirely possible - since he can now neutralize the whold “he didn’t pay taxes” argument by simply pointing to the fact that neither did the NYT, and that this is good because it is how the tax laws are supposed to work.

He could also talk about how government agencies givee extravagant perks and pay huge bonuses to workers who earn more than private sector peers do - all on the taxpayer’s dime. Why should businesses subsidize that crap?

what sources could leak returns? 1. IRS; 2. Auditors; 3. Trump

now, I’d be really really surprised if someone in Trump’s contingent did it, and even more surprised if an audit company did it because it would immediately and forever tank any clientele they have, which leaves an inside IRS job

However, to be noted, in 1996 Trump acquired 40 Wall Street.

No.
And he should sue the heck out of them just for the principle.
Tell them he looks forward to owning them.
Good optics.
People are sick of the media, people are sick of the division in the land caused by the left.
Trump runs against both.
He will win.

I don’t think Trump set this up. For one thing, they only are showing 1 page of his returns for 3 different states, probably because elsewhere in his returns it shows a lot of other taxes he paid that year and the person behind the release only wants to show the loss, not him also paying at the same time a huge amount of other taxes. I think an associate of the Clinton campaign got them from the IRS, they sorted through all the years they could get their hands on and the big NOL looked the worst (to them). Any one who runs a business understands operating at a loss in bad economic times. Maybe he used the NOL as a carryover in later years or maybe not, maybe he earned a lot more money later and used up his NOL quickly. Who knows.
