I do think it could work, on their greed. Freedom social apps could cost a lot and could get all of us (there are a ton of freedom seeking people who aren’t necessarily conservatives but are on our side basically - read some of the posts on the Donald Subred in Reddit.com) together. I’ve often wondered why there isn’t a Free Republic app yet. Might be a good time?
We can probably create an app that will download and make each cell phone or PC act like a mini cell tower so that we can all communicate
There are tools for creating an app without programming skills, but even these have a cost.
I also think many people who are willing to use Free Republic online, who may or may not use VPN, would be reluctant to install an app that might spy on them or simply identifies their smart phones.
The Russian use of location information to send warnings and log identities of Ukraine protestors comes to mind. I’m sure someone would want Freeper info.
I’ve wondered if the future will see competing, privately owned internets, like operating systems. Android/Googlenet, vs Zuckernet.
Irony - in a high tech age, the World War 2 methods of sending spy messages are back to being the most private.
