People asked me to break up a very important article into segments:
China's Conquest of Internet, ICANN + Quantum Encryption [*a*]
It's not easy to do.
For example: in the followup posting we began to discuss a 'balkanized internet' in which the leftist bigshots: google, amazon, twitter, etc abandon a single 'freedom of speech' TLD and the rest of the internet converges with heavy censorship rules. Then that tiny corner of the world wide web gets infiltrated and trashed like a cyber-version of Kosovo during Tito's regime.
How can I quickly jump into such a contingency from scratch?
If you don't have the time to read the long version, here's the quick answer from a professional witness:
Paul Rosenzweig [*b*] warns:
1. Foreign powers will "indisputably have increased influence". 2. Transition a "leap in the dark". 3. ICANN planning to move overseas. 4. '.gov' and '.mil' "not assured by any enforeable mechanism".

On January 27, 1998 — ten days after Matt Drudge broke the Monica Lewinsky story — Hillary Clinton told reporters at a White House press conference that the Internet needed an editing function or gatekeeping function.
