police-involved shootings in Charlotte and Tulsa ... learning how to ... understand all the different perspectives

Precisely what “different perspectives” did the Black police officers involved in the shootings not understand?

“Each of us have to get better perspectives...”

I don’t think so. There is truth, and there is falsehood. If some peoples’ “perspective” doesn’t agree with the truth, then we don’t need their perspective.

understand what other people are thinking and saying and what they see, and then try and come up with common-ground solutions.

They are thinking and saying "GIBSMEDAT!!!!"

They are seeing an opportunity to get more free stuff.

They will find common ground with me when they forswear rioting, looting, burning, murdering and stealing.

When will Ryan just switch to being a Dem for God’s sake? They are the ones who make policy from feelings instead of facts and logic.

Franklin Roosevelt’s rapid conversion from Constitutionalism to the doctrine of unlimited government is an oft-told story. But I am here concerned not so much by the abandonment of states’ rights by the national Democratic Party — an event that occurred some years ago when that party was captured by the socialist ideologues in and about the labor movement — as by the unmistakable tendency of the Republican Party to adopt the same course. […] Thus, the cornerstone of the Republic, our chief bulwark against the encroachment (on) individual freedom by Big Government, is fast disappearing under the piling sands of absolutism.

The Republican Party, to be sure, gives lip service to states’ rights. We often talk about “returning to the states their rightful powers”; the Administration has even gone so far as to sponsor a federal-state conference on the problem. But deeds are what count, and I regret to say that in actual practice, the Republican Party, like the Democratic Party, summons the coercive power of the federal government whenever national leaders conclude that the states are not performing satisfactorily. …

The Conscience of a Conservative (1960), pp. 24-25
No need to bother switching parties, since liberalism and authoritarianism is a long-standing GOP “tradition” since the postwar period.

Common-ground solutions:

1. Quit arguing/fighting with lawfully acting police.
2. Quit getting high or drunk and arguing/fighting with
lawfully acting police.
3. Quit breaking the law, which tends to cause the police
to show up at your door or stop your car.
4. Quit taunting the police with guns, knives and other
weapons.

This explains how a minority of socialist agitators can take over a country, just as a small minority of Muslims can seemingly take over Europe.

Ryan’s political prowess has come in part from being his party’s 2012 vice presidential nominee, introducing him to a vast array of wealthy conservative donors with strong ties to Mitt Romney and the Bush family. In addition, he’s benefited from many of those big donors abstaining from financially supporting Trump this year and instead focusing on protecting the House as well as the Senate majority.

Oh, I understand it fine, thanks, Paul. That's why I just ordered another 1000 rounds of 5.56.
