She did not decide to end her life so much as she decided to refuse more medical care.

This is not the same as euthanasia, as the title seems to imply.

It's easy to understand these days. Some healthcare providers would keep their life support on as long as there is insurance to pay for it. When you can be hospitalized for a week and it costs more than a brand new Lexus or a home there's a problem.

Long ago,in a class they made a distinction between euthanasia and ???(google has let me down!) ??anthanasia???

One was passive the other more active in promoting death.

I’m certain I was awake the entire class.
