UFC Ping, let me know if you want on/off the list.

I’ll take Screech (DP) and Hall.

Heya, Impy.

Sorry I missed the Bellator ping last night. I was over in the hospital ICU having a fatal heart attack :D

I did get to watch it there though, pretty good show, but as usual Chek Kongo bored the damn snot out of me. That guy is the most unexciting MMA fighter of all time.

Anyway, tonight, going with Louisiana superpower Dustin Pourier. Love this guy, he’s just awesome!

Also, I’d love to see Hall get a win.

But for the life of me, I can’t recognize any other name on this card, so I gotta stop right there.

Anywho, I’m back home and supper damn happy to be alive to be able to see another fight card!

I see that Wonderboy signed to fight Woodley. Looking forward to that as I don’t think Woodley is as good as he thinks he is.

I don’t know what it is about Kongo. I just believe that the guy is going to come out and bring it every bout but rarely he does. I guess he looks the part and seems athletic as they come. Somehow he always puts me to sleep but I keep believing that next time will be different.

I guess since he is 41 (Kongo), that I should stop believing in Santa Klaus and Cheick Kongo.

I think you are correct. That is why Woodley is trying to immediately get the big money fights. The guy obviously hits hard and can catch anyone but he’s definitely not invincible.

I am a young man, even though I refer to myself as an old man.

I’m 45, I had my first heart attack at 39, because at that time I was definitely quite fat, very out of shape and such.

I got a bare metal stent in my right coronary artery at that time.

Thursday evening, as I was out inline skating, on lap 14 a blood clot formed and completely blocked that stent and caused what was absolutely going to be a fatal heart attack.

No warning, no lead up, spontaneous event as the doc said.

Of course, after the heart attack started, and I thought to myself hmmm, geez i really hope that is not what I think it is, I skated 4 more laps around the track and field. Had to get to my 18 laps for the day.

So that is my new claim to fame, or my claim to total blithering idiocy, I haven’t decided yet. Skated 4 laps while having a heart attack. I wonder how many people have done that.

Then I went home and things went rapidly down hill from there. Sacred Heart hospital of Pensacola saved my life though. Love those guys and gals. That is one outstanding hospital!

Yep. And Wonderboy is the opposite - fast as lightning but not a lot of power and I don’t think his chin has really been tested.

That sounds like a rough evening to say the least. 45 is not old but definitely at the age where heart disease, etc. reveals itself to folks. At 39 though for your first heart attack is pretty rough and scary sounding. I’m glad that you made it to the hospital in time and that the staff got you fixed up.

How did they deal with clot at the stent?

I was thinking you were in your 20’s or early 30’s for some reason. It might be one of the other posters that I’m confused with chronologically on the UFC threads.

That was a really entertaining fight between Gomez and Quinonez.

My first heart attack at 39, even though it scared the S out of me, was not like this second one.

This second one was going to kill me if I hadn’t made it to the hospital pronto. They also credited my recent efforts of getting in shape towards my survival.

I have to credit Jesus Christ, my neighbor who told them to take me to Sacred Heart in stead of the much closer more rural hospital, because I could not answer the question of which hospital I wanted to go to. I didn’t think I could survive the extended trip to Sacred. I also have to credit the ambulance crew who said no one is allowed to die in their ambulance. They were able to stabilize me pretty well with oxygen, nitro and some pain med, and a few other things I’m not sure what they were.

Then the ER group who recognized right away that this was a serious attack. I was told afterward that the EKG indicated by a particular enzyme, which is the cases of “normal heart attacks” usually reads .4 or .5, mine read 40. This enzyme is indicative of muscle damage and muscle death.

After seeing this result, they convinced me that I must go to cath lab immediately or bad things are going to happen. This was no easy convincing. I’m scared of the cath lab from my first trip there many years ago, but I went. It was difficult to sign the consent form, my hands were not working properly as they were not receiving the necessary oxygen for me to control them, so I signed my name as a crooked line.

At that time, they moved me up pronto, and a doctor from Egypt named Dr. Albatar saved my life by placing a new and apparently better drug eluting stent inside my bare metal stent, and opening up that blood flow again within a short amount of time allowed a reversal of the muscle damage already done or at least in the process of being done.

So they have now determined that I am going to have to be on Plavix for the rest of my life, or I am going to die of a similar scenario at some point.

Best news out of the whole event, aside from I’m going to live, is I thought they would tell me no more inline skating, but they insist I continue with my exercise routines, so that makes me very happy, because if I’m going to go out, it’s going to be on my feet, not on my rear getting fat.

I’m glad you got better. :-O

I was hoping the other guy could KTFO Kongo, alas.

Did you hear? Sonnen to Bellator.

I’m familiar with maybe half the names on this card but not enough to care to make picks. Main and co-main are good matchups.

I’m glad, it sounded earlier like Woodley didn’t want Wonderboy.

I’m picking Wonderboy, as soon he learned to wrestle I said he’d get the belt one day.

Of course I never thought Woodley would beat Lawler. He is good. Should be a good fight.

Thanks kindly, Impy <3

I always hope everyone can beat Kongo, because every time Kongo gets a W, that means I have to watch him again ;/

I don’t know what it is with Kongo. That guy looks like he should be able to beat up the entire world with his little finger, and he’s just the ultimate snooze fest every single time.

And yeah, I saw Chael. His interviews were hilarious. Looks like he is trying to stake out the heel position in Bellator.

I thought it was hilarious when he ended his interview with Smith by saying the pleasure was all yours, and Smith just grins at him.

Bellator is definitely improving its ranks as an org. I like that a lot.

Awesome finish by Carlos Jr.! I’m not sure that I have seen him get a W before. Very happy this did not go to the judges.

That’s a lot to be thankful for in your post.

I’m glad everything turned out to be OK. I’m amazed that you had the stent replaced and you are back home! I’m very thankful for modern medicine and great medical professionals.

Also, I’m very grateful that we are still such a great country that some of the best minds in the world still want to come here and contribute to our great nation (folks like your doctor).
