Try $150 billion for Iran from Obama the the Corker Bill folks.

Plus another $400 million from Obama.

“Throw weight”.

Sub launched weapons couldn’t lift larger warheads or the quantity of MIRVs of their land-launched counterparts. The sub missiles did begin to catch up on accuracy, though.

Yes, since the Russians and Chinese are upgrading their nuclear forces, let’s unilaterally disarm. I’m sure the B-52s can do the job if needed. /s

It probably cost us two-billion for all of the Obama’s extravagant vacations over the 8-years.

Less nukes? No, we need MORE of them. We need them for space (like Project Orion), near earth asteroid deflection, nuclear demolition/construction/engineering (AKA Operation Plowshare) and of course, bug eradication:

A nuclear pop over Teheran will also create an enormous electromagnetic pulse. Iranian telecommunications will die and the country will dissolve into revolutionary chaos.

Mullahs dangling from telephone poles by the hundreds will be the initial effect.

Not being an expert, I cannot say that ICBM;s are valuable any longer or not.

A cursory examination of them leads to a few observations in no particular order.

1) They are hardened sites that will withstand a first strike and retain the ability to counter.

2) The time from launch to impact is significant, enough to determine if the intended strike is appropriate to complete or if the can be re-targeted.

3)You can equip them with higher yield devices...Mulitple Independent Re-entry Vehicles.... they require more maintenance.

It seems to me that while it is an older technology, it has not outlived it’s effectiveness.

It's time to replace the Minuteman III with a road mobile ICBM. Like the MX.

You mean the Midgetman. I prefer a mobile IRBM like the Pershing II. That thing was accurate. They could drop a nuke into a Kremlin window with that thing. Anyways:

"A nuclear pop over Teheran will also create an enormous electromagnetic pulse."

Well, yeah, supposedly. I'd just like to see a real world test. Over there, not here.

This as we are in a proxy war with Russia. Iran was just granted nuclear technology by Obama. NK is testing new nukes and missiles. Who knows what Cuba will get from her commie friends. I don’t think so.

But the moth-eaten mullahs have been threatening us with EMP pops for years.

I’m saying that if the abortive popular uprising in Teheran in 2009 (aborted by Obama) was any indication, there is a restive majority of Iranians, many nonreligious, currently held down by the ayatollahs & the Revolutionary Guards.

If an EMP strike were make all the servers go dark and cripple IRG command & control, throwing them into confusion, then in the midst of national chaos the Iranian people could rise up and overthrow the mullahcracy.

Just a thought.

There’s a erector/launcher right outside the Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH. Somewhere, I have a picture of my daughter sitting on it.

I came on board with the US Army Artillery (Lance) just as they were closing out the Pershing II. The cadre offices at Fort Sill had a fantastic photo of a 12’ x 12’ concrete pad in the middle of the desert (White Sands?). Captured on film right above it, at about 20 feet, was the warhead of a Pershing II after a 1000 mile trip. DEAD CENTER.
