LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC A Lexington County man was sentenced to life in prison, after he was convicted of murdering his neighbor, officials announced Friday.

A jury on Thursday found Billy John Geisendorff, 52, guilty of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to 11th Circuit Solicitor Donnie Myers’ office. Geisendorff was arrested in 2014 for the shooting death of Bobby Lee Christofoli, 42, in the Red Bank area.

Witnesses told Lexington County sheriff’s investigators Geisendorff had spent April 2, 2014, drinking and making “numerous attempts to engage in an altercation” with Christofoli.

At some point, Geisendorff went home to grab his handgun and returned to continue the argument, according to testimony and the arrest warrant. Geisendorff then fired his .22-caliber revolver at Christofoli, striking his chest, heart, neck and arm.

When deputies arrived around 9 p.m., Christofoli’s body was found lying on Cheryse Drive, a rural dirt road off Chalks Ferry Road. Neighbors identified Geisendorff as the shooter.

He was found about an hour later, hiding underneath the crawl space of a nearby home on Cheryse Drive. Deputies also found the revolver Geisendorff used to kill Christofoli along with a knife, a flashlight and a case of beer.

Geisendorff was previously convicted of theft, battery and resisting arrest in Georgia and Louisiana. As of late Friday, he had not been booked into a S.C. Department of Corrections prison.

If he'd used a heavier caliber he wouldn't have had to shoot so many times.

and a case of beer.

He should have guzzled the beer while he had the chance.

The only thing that is clear about this story is that what ever brand of beer he had, it was bad beer and very cheap beer.

If the neighbor is a jerk, plenty of other non-murderous ways to handle it. Unless they try to murder you first, or make you at that moment fear for your life, nope.

This guy is just a premeditated murderer.
