Well, if they go by the rules of the DNC, Bernie will be dusting off his dance shoes.
But the Dems don’t follow any rules anyway...
As others noted, and I consider myself corrected, she is _it_ for the Democratic ticket at this point. Ballot occupants are locked in now for many states. Early voting actually starts tomorrow somewhere. She can’t drop out per se; only way “out” now is to either win and refuse to serve (which methinks her VP steps in), or assume room temperature. She might make arrangements, she might make promises, but at this point the ballot choice is her or Trump. Write-ins aren’t viable. One point I haven’t puzzled thru yet is how the Electoral College would react to a “withdrawn” candidate; irrelevant if candidate loses, but could get seriously weird if she wins anyway. I’m just not seeing a way for anyone to step into her place at this point.

When I heard this today during the press conference, I thought it was an odd thing to say, interesting at least. To make her point, all she had to say was if I weren’t running. Instead she referenced, candidate, nominee, just a concerned citizen.
