We had a moral obligation to pass our country on to our children better than we received it. We have failed catastrophically.

In response to Mr. Kotkin,

I am a baby boomer, yes.

I am not a self-loathing, egg-headed urbanographer Jew, like you.

I am a half-breed, and proud of it.

I am a Viet/Cold War vet, (something that Mr. Koskin did not add in his recipe of ‘self-loathing American’), and proud of it.

Until my draft number (3) was announced, I was all set to attend a business college, without government handouts,
once I graduated high school.

After my military service, I did the best thing you could do as an American. EARN (that means work for) all the money I could, legally.

I did. I had the house, the car, the wife, the job, the Dobermans, the guns, and the location, Southern California.
I also had the taxes, the long commute to both work and playlands, the weekends spent in the garage, and the earthquakes. A side effect of my careers was the acquisition of nothing but double-headed zygotes, so ‘Children? What children?’

So, since there were no children to go into hock for, lovingly, as parents do, there was mo’ money for me.

In summation. baby boomer? Yes. Proud American? (*)Yes. Birthing and spoiling children to make the world worse? No.

The fact that millennials both reject Trump and voted heavily against Clinton in the primaries reflects their nascent rejection of boomer politics.”

Clinton personifies boomer politics?

I am a boomer, and I have yet met any boomer who will vote for Clinton.

The “Greatest Generation” had some hard times surviving the 30’s and then WWII. As a kid (and baby boomer) I recall hearing one of them say to my dad he will make life better for his kids by keeping them in school as long as it takes until the Vietnam War was over. This was actually a national strategy which helped produce some of the most leftist professors ever.

In other cases they let Roe v Wade slide by thereby making mass murder legal.

The biggest failure was not clamping down on the hippie movement. This batch is what runs the country now.

That “Greatest Generation” won it all through dedication, hard work, and tough fighting, just to give it all away with poor government and parenting.

Yes, the Greatest created one of the worst generations, the generation heading our great country down the sewer.

Yep. You can learn everything you need to know about the boomers by watching Woodstock.

It’s why I own the movie. The aftermath is especially comical.

“And there we all were in one place
A generation lost in space”

We wanted a better world.

We found out that heaven on earth is impossible.

So, we ruthlessly set out to get everything we could get.

Now, we’re old and shaken.

We laughed at the farmers and glorified the wrecking ball.

We wanted sex, drugs, rock and roll and money.

We had sex with no love resulting in the slaughter of millions.

We had drugs to help us forget our slaughter and our responsibilities and turned us into cowards.

We had rock and roll which demeaned the beauty and hard work of previous music and stoked our selfishness detracted from real art.

And we have money so we can isolate ourselves and thumb our noses at everyone else.

We have technology but our souls, the very essence of who we are, are empty.

“With no time left to start again”

Until the baby boomers have all died off this Republic will continue to decline. I first said this to my brother in 1991. It is a cursed group that literally destroyed the family, most normal moirees, and religion and will continue to destroy healthcare and the economy as they selfishly claw their way to the end.

(Also, they permitted an era of wildly increased gun control that we are just beginning to get our hands around.)
