Yep, I was turned off by that too. Why are the Olympics now pushing global warming????

The OLYMPICS is not about slavery and climate change.

I had blocked that asinine "climate change" imbecility from my mind.
Had I switched the event off I would have missed the torch lighting ceremony.

That was worth the wasted few hours... awesome.

I never made it to the torch lighting. The commercials put me to sleep after the Kip Keno award. I woke up to a used car infomercial.

I have never really been a fan. This year I have actively avoided it.

I watched it last night. It was pretty good.

My wife and daughter, previous devourers of the opening ceremonies, both said “Meh” and skipped it. Apparently they weren’t alone.

What a shame. If sponsors were sharp they would have negotiated viewership guarantees for advertising rates. They should he calling in for their refunds anytime now.

Hubby watched the PC crap, I had my nose in my Kindle, looked up long enough to see Phelps carry in the Stars and Stripes. That is as far as I could handle. I do want to watch Phelps win another medal. That will be the extent of my watching, I’d rather read a good book on my Kindle.
