But, but, but... what about all those folks who paid Hillary for speeches so our America’s young people could die for hellholes like Turkey?

We need to dissolve NATO. Form a new treaty that only includes those countries not intent on committing cultural suicide. That does not include Turkey. That includes Russia.

The WMD capabilities of Turkey and Pakistan need to be dealt with. Iran can never be allowed to have the bomb.

Sounds like a good plan.

It's plans like that we are hoping will become reality when President Trump is elected.

I PRAY he begins "Presidentin'" Nov. 3 !

zero did and I resented him from jump street (in part) for that.

I believe there are two different issues here. General Scaparrotti is talking about the 2% of GNP goal for NATO member defense spending. Trump has talked about NATO countries paying the U.S. for defending them. I think the question a lot of NATO countries would have is how much they will be expected to pay?

Sometimes, I wonder if you and I should run a DNA comparison to see if we are related when I read your replies.

Needless to say, I like them.

“But, but, but... what about all those folks who paid Hillary for speeches so our America’s young people could die for hellholes like Turkey?” (+ Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, & ?!”

We need to disolve the ‘u’ frickin ‘n’ as well. If that can’t be done, at least have them move someplace more to their liking since the hate the US and then let ‘em know, you’re gettin’ a million a year and that’s it. See ya. (I know some will say pay ‘em ZERO but good faith and all that)

:)

“Trump has talked about NATO countries paying the U.S. for defending them.”

Trump has talked about Japan and S. Korea paying us to defend them. He talks about NATO pulling their fair share.

On "Meet the Press" two weeks ago he was also talking about NATO reimbursing the U.S.

Russia? LOL. Putinist Russia needs enemies to keep Russians distracted while his stooges loot the country. Kleptocratic one party state fascist Russia will never be an ally of the US. Guaranteed.

Only a handful of the NATO members are paying the 2% they are supposed to pay, with U.S. taxpayers footing the rest of the bill. I was glad to hear when Trump first brought up the fact that we can no longer afford to pay for the world’s defense.

“.....NATO countries paying the U.S. for defending them.”....

Thus making our military into mercenaries? there had better be a very damn good reason to send any of our military to protect other than our own. When/if we DO send them go in to win and get the hell out ASAP, no more pussy footing around.

Trump's suggestion, not mine.

there had better be a very damn good reason to send any of our military to protect other than our own.

How about a treaty you signed saying you would do so? If you want to make abiding by the treaty conditional then it would be best to withdraw from the treaty altogether.

What worries me is a potential “Ribbentrop-Molotov” deal between Turkey and Russia.
