TR was probably the most athletic tho Ford, Nixon, Eisenhower, Reagan, Carter and Bush Jr. all competed in college athletics. Unsure if there were any more who did.
Andrew Jackson may have been the toughest. They didn’t call him “Old Hickory” for nothing. All the presidents who fought in the Civil War had to be tough and so did the others who fought in wars.
