"Atlantic City was doomed by casinos opening up in neighboring states."

I'll also add that they tried to strip you of your money as fast as they could. They forgot about repeat business.

In the early eighties, I used to got to Vegas with some friends. I would carry $500 for gambling. I could make it last for two days with little problem. They got my money and I had two days of fun and free alcohol. I used to go every two-three months.

I went to Atlantic city in its prime and they stripped me of may cash as fast as they could and very little free alcohol. I did not feel inclined to ever go back.

Exactly. I lost $500 on slots in one evening 5 years ago. Didn’t hit anything the whole night. I was so pissed I didn’t even stay the night. Went right home (about a 2 hr. drive). Have never been back and have no desire.
I never went with dreams of winning big, just don’t make me FEEL like you’re robbing me.

The mountain casinos in Colorado work exactly the same way. And you’re right, I could go to Vegas and lose a little bit of money slowly over a couple of days and have a great time. The Colorado casinos just take it all in a few minutes. I think i went one time and then never went back.
