Bradley Cooper was surprised by uproar over Democratic convention appearance

Bradley Cooper caused an online uproar among some Republicans during the Democratic national convention after being spotted by TV cameras listening to speeches last Wednesday evening, when Barack Obama spoke. The apparent reason: he played the highly decorated Navy Seal Chris Kyle in Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, a major (and rare) Hollywood hit among conservatives.

The four-time Oscar nominee (he was nominated for American Sniper) claimed on The Late Late Show on Tuesday night that he had simply attended to hear Obama’s address.

That tells you everything you need to know right there. It doesn't work as an excuse -- only a confirmation.

Baloney. He could have heard Obama’s speech on television.

BS.

He wanted to hear Obola “speak” (in front of convenient TV cameras!) so he traveled cross country to Philly to do it?

Why? I cannot stand to even hear him utter one word, let alone the litany of lies I know will be forthcoming.

Notice to the outraged people, actors are not the same people they play on the big screen

He’s an ACTOR. There’s a 98.5% chance he’s a lib.

What’s next — folks will be surprised that Sienna Miller (who played Taya Kyle) is a lib???

No uproar here as far as I am concerned. Just noted and will consider it if it is at all relevant in any future situation. There is no celebrity out there that would disappoint me anymore if they are with the dims. The subculture he swims in makes it natural for him to be a dim. It is the other way that would make any celeb interesting on the political level anyway.

As Rush said, he knows if he plays an Obama sound bite, he loses a lot of listeners.

I know. I didn't hold it against him that he went. He's a Philadelphia-area guy and political conventions are living history. But he endorsed Obama at length on that talk show. He didn't have to do that.

Old actors weren’t idiots. They knew if you counted on cowboy roles, you were seen around rodeos and not gay bars in NYC.
Now the actors don’t know the rules and the fans still think the actors are their role.

I don’t know who to respect less, the actor, or the people who admired him.

Could simply be the reason he went. So he doesn’t get passed over for films for being conservative, or on the right. “I was at Obama’s speech after all.”

He only confirmed, didn’t indulge in delusional liberal fantasies.

Of course I believe him. Hollywood types often flee L.A. in July to hit the glam scene in Philly.

They play heroes on the big screen, but are cowards in real life. Cooper trashed Kyle's memory by sucking up to pro jihadi Dems.
